No one said that.
In the spirit of moving on, I am looking forward to this very much. I bought the first book as an e-book, but I’m not wild about the reading experience. I’m going to try one a different tablet, but I suspect a physical copy is in my future.
Moderating:
I think we’ve beat the question of the race of the actress playing Death to death. Please drop the topic.
Re: “she was a Chinese human (sorry I’m just hitting general reply….I’m on my phone and have never mastered snipping)”
Pictures were provided of Death with Caucasian skin, one of which was her as a literal human (as she does once a century) I noted that but then remembered once as a literal human she had alabaster skin as she usually does……so any point I had to make such as “Well she’s literally human there so of course her having caucasian skin doesn’t prove anything”
Was moot cause she also appeared as a Chinese human with alabaster skin
I was shooting any potential argument I could have made in the foot
Sorry …I just saw this. Noted
Looking at the cast, Lyta Hall will be making an appearance.
I wonder if the show could survive all the way until Morpheus dies and is replaced with Daniel.
Speaking of cast…the older characters are inspired choices and a few others. Charles Dance, Gwen Christie, Stephen Fry…
The only misgiving is that I wasn’t cast as Hob Gadling. I knock that out of the park in my head when i read his stuff.
Trivia: I went to the same HS as one of the writers, Allan Heinberg. Not quite at the same time, though I think i accidentally levelled him in an alumni soccer game.
nvm, saw the modnote.
Here is some behind-the-scenes footage:
I suspect I’m going to be making a replica of the helm, soon.
Is the permanent Blue Steel expression makeup, CGI, or taught facial muscles?
Based on her role on The Good Place, I think she’s going to be freaking fantastic as Death. Indeed, the biggest worry is that she’s gonna get typecast as a brilliant, cheerful woman who accepts no bullshit and hangs out in the afterlife.
Are we sure that it’s actually John’s ancestor, as opposed to a female John? Do we have confirmation of this? Or are you just speculating based on the name?
Note that Lucifer and Lucian/ Lucienne were male in the original, and are also female in the TV version.
I read it in one of the articles. It would be a weird speculation anyway, wouldn’t it?
Coleman is Johanna Constantine, haunted exorcist and Occult Adventuress for Hire. Johanna is also John Constantine’s great-great-great grandmother.
It’s both. “You get her as a modern woman and you get her as the one in the 1790s. Both.”
I was wondering if they were somehow replacing Hob’s storyline with her, but I see a Hob in the cast. Not that that precludes her being immortal as well, I mean look at who she’s talking to in the trailer.
Lucifer was always rather androgynous in the comic. Casting a female thespian for the role is not much of a stretch.
Tilda Swinton’s performance in the Constantine movie was very strongly reminiscent of Gaiman’s portrayal of Lucifer.
I like the bright cheery setting for that scene….that’s definitely not something that easily comes off the page
Just looked up the cast on imdb, and squeed just a little bit at Stephen Fry as Gilbert. That’s perfect casting.
