The scariest car in my Forza 4 garage

There’s an utter TERROR in my Forza 4 garage…
A car so utterly terrfiying it would scare even The Stig, and some say that he invented fear…

The car in question?
It’s my…
Class R3 709 P.I.
5.0L V8 powered
Supercharged (Eaton Twinscrew Race SC) and intercooled
roll-cage equipped and race-lightened
racing slicks and race suspensioned
rear-wheel drive…
pushing out 797 HP and 732 TQ
2,400 Lb…

0-60 in 5.03 seconds
0-100 in 7.43 seconds
202 MPH top speed (but I got it up to 215 for a short section of the old LeMans straightaway)
1.03G at 60MPH skidpad

1973 Ford…

Pinto!

There’s just something… not right… about seeing a Ford “Molotov On Wheels” Pinto doing 200+ MPH and keeping up with the likes of Ferraris and Lamborghinis…

But there’s also a perverse thrill in utterly dominating those cars in a (admittedly MASSIVELY modified) Ford Pinto…

The Pinto was one of the DLC cars in the January Jalopnik pack, along with the brand new Pagani supercar, a classic Alfa, a Dodge Omni GLHS and a few others…

I really bought it mainly for the Omni, but decided to have a bit of fun with the lowly and justifiably maligned Ford Pinto, in stock form, the Pinto is absolutely pathetic, a Class F, 100 P.I. (the lowest possible score) slug, with a thoroughly underwhelming 85 HP and 90 TQ

the Omni GLHS, OTOH, is a fun little pocket rocket even in stock trim, I was able to run the Top Gear test track in 1:40 bone stock, and by just upgrading only the tires, suspension, transmission and driveline components, leaving the engine bone stock, I was able to bring the time down to 1:32

The cars in the January Jalopnik pack?
'73 Ford Pinto
'70 Alfa Romeo Montreal
'96 Chevy Impala SS
'86 Dodge Omni GLHS
'12 Honda Civic SI Coupe
'00 Fiat Coupe 2.0 Turbo
'11 Audi RS 5
'12 Pagani Huayra
'11 Lamborghini #08 Gallardo
'11 Honda #33 Lola LeMans car

Another heavily modded Pinto Vs. one of the “Elite” supercars, the Bugatti Veyron

What does GLHS stand for, “Goes Like Hell Squared”?

And The Stig does not know the meaning of the word “fear”. (He is also woefully misinformed on the subject of ducks.)

Actually, it stands for “Goes Like Hell Som’more”. Seriously.

Everything you ever wanted to know about the Omni and Charger GLH/GLHS

Here’s a real-world '73 Pinto powered by a 351.

0-60 in over 5 seconds with only 2,400lbs curb weight and almost 800 horsepower? Shit, you should be getting 0-60 in like 2.5 seconds or less with that setup!

I used to own a late 90’s Fiat Coupe 20v Turbo, what do you think of it in the game?

To me it was stereotypically Italian - great looks, great performance and handling, but let down by poor fit & finish. It hadn’t started rusting yet, but you really had to slam the boot to get it to shut and the switch gear was pretty flimsy.

I set the gear ratios for top speed on the above config, with almost 800 HP on tap, and a supercharger, the powerband is wide and forgiving, when geared for acceleration, it’s twitchy and throttle sensitive

I’ll adjust for acceleration and see if I can drop the 0-60 numbers

Haven’t modified the Pinto yet but right after the Pack came out my buddy and I took a couple of stock Pintos and did the Old Fujimi Hill Climb.

Oh man were we laughing at the ridiculousness of it all. These two Pintos gasping and wheezing their way up the hill, sometimes dropping down to 27 mph while the awful 3-speed tried to figure out which gear could do better with the non-existent torque. Good times!

Then we hopped in the stock GLHSs and had a proper race on the same track.

That DOES sound like a blast, and thanks for the great idea, the next time my nephew visits (he loves Forza 4) we may just have to have a Pinto race up Fujimi Kaido, in fact, that gives me an idea for a SDMB Forza 4 competition…
