The SDMB All-Time Television Awards (nomination phase)

Place your nominations now for the SDMB All-Time television awards! As explained in this thread, I’m looking for the denizens of CS to determine once and for all what the answer is to that eternal question, “What’s the best T.V. show, like, ever?”

Nominate as many nominees as you like in one, some or all categories. You can nominate with a post in this thread, or if you want to increase the suspense, you can send me a Private Message with your nominations. I will tabulate the votes offline, and post a final “short list” of nominees at the beginning of December (by which point, nominations will be closed).

Please use this thread for nominations ONLY. If you have any questions about process, or what I mean by certain categories, or anything at all really, please use the other thread (here).

Vote early! Vote often!

Caveats: I realize this will be U.S. centric with a touch of U.K. tv. In some cathegories, I’d prefer to nominate things from other countries, but to do so would be pointless, so I’ll leave it blank. In other cases, such as medical show, I’d like to narrow it down to a season. The first season of E.R. was brilliant. But I wouldn’t want to cast my vote for the the whole show, seeing how craptacular it’s become.

Also, I didn’t put anything for best joke before, because I couldn’t think of anything, but I’d like to add Dr. Cox always calling JD a girl’s name (Scrubs).

I’m not sure, but I think this thread is just for nominations. Therefore people shouldn’t hesitate to name multiple favorites for each category. Am I right?

Hey Guys, can you do me a favour? Please try to make it clear exactly which show you’re referring to. For example, when nominating the best lawyer, if you say “Jack McCoy”, please also state that you’re talking about Law & Order. Sure, I knew that one, but lots of them I don’t recognize just by name.

Also (and I’m looking at you Battlestar galactica fans, here) if there’s more than one version of the show, please state which version you’re talking about. For example, if you’ve nominated Adama as best Starship Captain, do you mean Lorne Green or Eddie Olmos?

Thanks very much,
thwartme
