I didn’t look to see if this has been done before because it seemed like such an original idea.
The game is simple, just like any other scavenger hunt you must find the most of the items on the list, but in this version, you don’t need to find a half eaten Moon Pie, or make a video of a rhino with a football. In this game you must find a Doper who fills the bill.
For instance if one of the items was a lawyer, a correct response would be Bricker
Yes you do have to have cites, or at least the confirmation of the Doper used.
The first to get 7 of the 10 on the following list will get to post his/her list.
To begin:
1). An Active Duty Soldier
2). A Doctor
3). An Actress in a college play
4). Lives in Japan
5). Has been in the same room as a sitting President
6). Married more than 3 times
7). Has trained for the Olympics
8) A high school dropout
9). A barista
10). A Professional Musician
Good Luck,
If no one has 7 by midnight CDT tomorrow, the person with the highest total will be the winner.
1). Wrong–Even Airman Doors would say he is not an Active Duty Soldier.
2). Correct
3). Correct
4). Correct
5). Unanswered
6). Unanswered
7). Wrong–Seriously training, not a guy who is thinking about it, or would like to compete.
8). Correct–I will take your word for it.
9). Unanswered
10). Correct
So at this point the current leader is Cisco with 5.
I know there’s inter-branch bravado that leads to very specific labels, but according to Merriam-Webster, even Marines are soldiers (and Airmen certainly are):
Airman Doors is enlisted, not commissioned, if I’m not mistaken.
Hint for those who are serious about competing: DancesWithCats has been married at least 3 times, and it might be 4. [personal communication – you’re welcome to track down more info]
And, nitpick – is Airman Doors currently on active duty? I thought he was in college right now.
Oh crap I am NOT good at this. It’s a wonder I got any of the above, much less 7 of them. I read pit threads where dozens of posters go on and on about the intricacies of some poster’s style and attitudes, and I’m usually thinking, *I’ve never heard of this guy . . . *
I’ll try to think of 10 but they’d be super obvious or totally random chosen from current threads.
Very true, but I don’t think you can count this - he wasn’t a sitting President. The handshake was about two weeks before his election.
I have been quite close to both Presidents Bush, but both of these interactions were outdoors, as was the handshake with President Clinton. Fails the “same room” criterion.
