I think a lost kindle (or a handheld gaming device) in a different country airport was safely located by a local doper and returned to owner in U.S.

Somebody once posted a “Can anyone ID this movie?” thread. All she could remember about the movie was that she watched it about a year ago.
We identified the movie.
Here’s my submission. Easily the best example of this genre I’ve seen on the dope. MsWhatsit sums it up in the thread much better than I ever could. Spoilered in case you want to pop over and have a look instead of having it spelt out.

How about finding other forums a troll has come from? I’m not bringing this up as a joke, I think it’s quite impressive to be able to trace people if they don’t copy exact posts.

I couldn’t find the thread but I remember one within the last year where the OP was trying to identify an unknown person that was in a group celebrity photo (I think it was one of those group photos with the maharishi from back in the 60’s, or something similar). Over the course of a weekend I think they managed to figure out who the unknown person was.
If anyone else knows what I’m talking about and can link to the thread, I’d be grateful.
