My saddness returns…for I started the South beach diet two weeks ago, lost 5 pounds and fell off the wagon this past weekend…this morning upon getting on the scale, I see I have gained it back.
Self loathing doesn’t work folks. Self discipline does.

I have the self-discipline of a dark ages monk. You could set a cheesecake in front of me and I wouldn’t eat more than one serving, after determining the WW point values for it, and then only if I had enough points left in the day for it.
I’ve got an iron will. I didn’t really fully realize that before I started dieting.
Truly, you are one of the blessed!
Another update. waist is at 42.5" now. however my weight is still at 262. I guess its not a bad thing, as long as i keep losing one or the other i am making progress but i’d like to get weight down to 230 or so, that would only make me ‘kinda’ obese.
If possible i’d like to get my waist down to 37" or so, at that size my stats would be 37 waist, 53 chest, 60 shoulders. i would look so damn cool like that. maybe i should buy a chrome chain and wear it around my neck with a masterlock on it too. and sunglasses of course.
Wes: Be sure to link us all to some pictures when you decide. It sounds like you could play a part on Hercules if you sculpt yourself down to those measurements.
Me, I just wanna be a cute Clark Kent. With a lotta leeway on the “cute” part!

So do Y’all wanna switch to a new thread, or do you wanna just keep on with this one like the DaveBear one? They seem to be setting some kinda record to equal the LOTR one.
I’m at 208, I can get into a 36 waist, and I just ordered 2 sweaters that are a size too small for me at this time. So this is it: 10 more pounds before 11.26.03.

Quasi, if you want to start a new thread, that’d be fine!
I think I’m going to try the South Beach diet… it doesn’t look as restrictive as Atkins (which I know I could never do) but still with some healthy results… I’ve gotta get this weight off!
liirogue - I can highly recommend South Beach. Read the book, then use it as a frequent reference. After countless attempts on various programs, I’ve found it to be the easiest in terms of something I can adapt to and a program that won’t drastically cramp my lifestyle. Getting healthy and shedding tonnage shouldn’t be a torture - it should be something you can embrace happily.
I’ve plateau-ed a bit lately, although 30# in 3 months is pretty good. I’m going to drop back down to the first phase as a re-jump start before the holiday season descends. I still want to be down a total of 50# by the first of the year.
'Kay, Y’all. New thread coming up!
