The SDMB Weight Loss Club Part Drei (three)

The Georgia Night silence is shattered by the sound of monster Four by Fours , souped-up John Deere’s, '57 Chevy’s, and the Shriner’s Harleys, coming your way, dood!

Not to mention the Ud’n-Ud’n coming from my own Moped!

You done “screwed da pooch” mommy-frigger! Soon as I can get somebody to pee on my Levi’s vest, I’m headin’ up your way to chastise yo’ ass!

I will show you no Mersey!

Gotchaya!

Quasi das Terrible Mensch!

 Bet I had you shaking in your Earth-Shoes, didn’t I?

167.5 (boooo). Diligent Atkins. No lipolysis. Size 14 pants still tight due to 4# of water consumed each day. Many happy people eatting leftover Halloween candy. Grrrr… Thinking of the blue light. Peaceful, philosophical, patient. Alternating with grrrrr…

Quasimodem: You gave yourself away in your precious post! :stuck_out_tongue:

Well, I’m getting tired of hot dogs. I bought two “family packs” of Ralph’s Private Selection Old Fashioned Hot Dogs (slightly spicy, with skins that snap when you bite 'em) before I was laid off. I put them in Zip-Loc bags and froze them. Since I’m moving house, I thought I’d better clean out the fridge. Can’t waste food, so I’ve been eating the 'dogs. I’ve been simply heating them and then dredging them in catsup, or heating and eating them on low-carb tortillas with some mayo and catsup. And I’m just tired of hot dogs.

So yesterday I went to KFC. I wanted a three-piece meal, but the person in front of me wanted an eight-piece meal with all breasts. I settled for a two-piece (their last remaining breast, and a wing). The guy threw in an extra wing because I had originally wanted a three-piece and he didn’t have two chicken breasts available. And I had the mashed potatoes and gravy and the cole slaw. (Big no-nos on Atkins!) But I was hungry and tired of hot dogs. I couldn’t find Trader Joe’s new location, so I couldn’t get the salmon I really wanted.

Still, I was down another half-pound this morning. Total weight loss: 27.5 pounds.

 Thanks Johnny L.A.. I have a lot of love for you in my heart for you and my other Doper buds. Believe it. Big Hugs!

Q

:smack: D’OH!

Who put the “c” key so close to the “v” key? “… your previous post.”

Aiyiyi.

So I guess this means goodbye to the thoughts of my hunching your legs, then, huh?

You ** BITCH!**

Q

Good work, you guys!

I can’t believe it. I hit the 25 pounds lost mark today. I’m just surprised because I drank last night (Halloween party) and consumed a few more carbs than I probably should have by snacking on dill pickles.

I love that I’m now able to wear pants I haven’t been able to wear in ages (which is good, because all the pants that did fit me were starting to fall apart!). People are noticing the weight loss. My giant belly is shrinking. I’m sleeping much better at night and I’m feeling a little more comfortable in my skin. My energy level is the best it’s been in a long, long time. The “shelf” on my ass has disappeared.

All of this has been a motivation, along with everyone else who’s posting here. Good to know I’m not fighting the good fight alone.

Mazel tov, JavaMaven1!
167. = 4 pounds on Atkins Induction, Week 1.

I found Hansen’s diet sodas at the store today. They’re sweetened with Splenda rather than aspartame, making them a better fit for Atkins (and potentially safer).

I’m not much of a carnivore, so I’m finding it quite bizarre to eat pot roast plus turkey plus sausages plus eggs plus chicken in the same day. My weight ranges up to 172.5 from all the water, then drops up to 5 pounds overnight. I’m having a hard time dressing in the morning, since something that’s too loose is too tight by the end of the day. I’m hoping that after another week of Induction this will even out somewhat. And still no ketosis.

Q

Java! That’s wonderful! YAY!

  1. Booooo Atkins. And yes, I am following it to the letter. And no, my clothes are not looser.

Awesome job Java!!

Atkins is not a tried and true weight loss method for the ladies, I’m afraid. Speaking as a male, I can’t really go into details, but I have read on http://groups.google.com/groups?hl=en&lr=&ie=UTF-8&group=alt.support.diet.low-carb that TOM and water retention plays a big role in weight loss.

Are you exercising at all? Are you eating enough?

Hi GingerOfTheNorth, Exercising: Yup, when I have had the energy for it. At least 15 minutes a day, up to 30-45 (my usual). Yes, I’m eating over a thousand calories a day, and generally 1400 (my usual). And yes, I’m not stinting on fat. It’s annoying.

…to my bro Johnny L A for a post that in retrospect was way over the top, even for me. John, I’m sorry. If you’d forgive me, I’d appreciate it.

Quasi

Quasi, I don’t know what Johnny L.A. is gonna say about that post, but for me, I took it as the humor it was intended to be. A lot of times, humor is funnier when it’s over the top:)
