Sorry about that. I was kidnapped by some friends and taken to a tavern, where I was forced to drink beer and watch the NBA finals.
It seems that makes me a better poker player though. Who got most of my chips?

As we speak, I’m up about $80 just since the SDMB tourney is over, not counting the $20 I fronted a SDMB player
Awfully late notice, but I’m playing the 99 cent tourney tonight. Curious if anybody else was.
Couple of us in the .99 tonight if anyone wants to join us in an AIM chat(Auger, turn on AIM!).
Oh man, never thought about AIM. I went out in 103rd, I see Yeti was like 120…
A guy goes all in, I had JJ and did too. Flop 33J. Turn 3. River A He had AA I was crippled after that.
Wootage! Just won my first tourney there, one of the $5 buy in ones. Pay out was 27.50, not too shabby. Was running third when we hit the money(3 players), and hit trip 7s on the flop when the chip leader had two pair. Took a big chunk of her chips there and never looked back. Entering the .99 center now.
Any $.99’ers tonite?
Not me, for reasons I am about to explain.
This is technically blackjack, not poker, but it’s still a tourney.
So, I go to Santa Ana’s casino to get into their $20 buy-in, $500 added blackjack tourney. I wasn’t sure what to expect, but I definitely was not expecting the format it was. Instead of being at least two rounds, with the winner of each table going to a final table, it was three rounds, two of two tables and one of one table. Start with 1000 in chips, minimium bet of 5 and no maximum. The three highest chip totals got money–with about 30 people playing, this made the prize pool ~$1100. I was in the first round and finished with 2240 in chips, putting me in first place. So I was feeling pretty confident. Amazingly, someone in the second round managed to get 3225 in chips, pushing me into second, where I stayed. So, for my $20 buy-in, I won $255 dollars, for a net win of $235.
Oh, and here’s another neat thing. I qualified for the $3000 added tourney at the end of July. I can’t remember if it’s free or if there is another buy-in, but I’ve gotta take a shot at that.
NIce play, asterion!
Any wannabe $.99’ers tonite?
I’m in. You need to turn on AIM tho slacker
OK, it’s Thursday, last game of the second quarter.
While I know my standings this quarter are just abyssmal, I’m still ready to rumble. Gosh I hope I don’t get put out by a girl again this week Just joking, aholibah, you play great and fit right in with the group.
Awwwwwwww yeeeaaah!
I’m ready to kick it old skool tonight kids. I’m definitely in and I’ll definitely not be the first one out.
No me tonight. Sorry.
Yeti Kram!
Yeti Kripple!
Yeti Krush!
BTW…has anyone played two different games at once on PT? I’m kinda kickin’ around the idea of doing the Bicycle Tournament at the same time as tonight’s game…is it a pain in the ass, or can it easily be pulled off?
Ahem.
You, sir, have commentary responsibilities as well as poker responsibilities. While you may well be able to play well in both, I believe your commentary will sink to abysmal levels if you play in that other tournament. Sell-out punk.
I’ve played a game and a tourney at once. A semi PITA, I did hit the “Fold” button on the wrong game once and folded a nut boat. I think if you could turn the resolution on your monitor up to where both games were visible at once (or have a dual monitor set-up), it wouldn’t be too bad.
Not sure if “nut boat” is a proper name for that hand…I folded A3h, and a pair of 3’s and an A came on the flop. So I guess somebody with pocket AA would have actually flopped the “nut boat” at that point…I’m glad I didn’t accidently fold pocket AA. Anyway…
Duke, thanks to you, I’ve got pornographic insane tv song lyrics going through my head right now:
“The Nuuuuuuut Boat, soon will be making another run
The Nut Boat promises something for everyone
Set a course for adventure
Your mind on a new romance”
Rude. And Grim.
Oh yeah, last night’s WPT Finale was Shana Hiatt’s last episode, I think. They had a little “Shana Tribute” at the end of the show.
Thanks for getting my mind back on track, Capn!
