Well, Mike…that was just too rude and grim…I’m just gonna have to pull the MAB out of your refrigerator and stock mine back up. MAB makes you a smooth, well-lubed, multi-tasking machine…like me…I’m totally capable of winning two tournaments AND commenting on your rudeness and your grimness in one huge, highly viscous, slithering mental orgy of words.

After the table whoring (I won $5 btw), I caught up with Gangster Octopus who was doing his best imitation of a cockroach. He was playing in the Bicycle Tournament and when I caught up with him he was about 10th out of 18 players left from a field of 125. Dude practically folded his way towards the top. Win one hand, fold the next 20, win a hand, fold the next 15. Just bottom sucking. Then he hit a big hand that got him down to the final 3 players. And then the cockroach started to bleeeeed. The cockroach was mortal…alas…but GO did us Dopers proud.
New slate next week, I told GO to get his ass into our tournament for the 3rd quarter.
Yeah yeah, a little patience can get you a long way. I shouldn’t have gone out like that. Top pair on the turn I didn’t bet enough and he stayed in with an open ended straight draw which he caught on the river. That killed me. That’s the second time I finished third in that tournament. But I am happy to have represented the SDMB.
Now you guys watch out, I’m coming after ya in Q3.
Yeah, so it’s only Wednesday…but tomorrow marks the beginning of Q3 and my new reign of poker terror.
Side note: I’m watching WPT late Saturday at a buddy’s house. I just got done telling him how annoying Mike Sexton’s constant use of Vince Van Patten’s first name. Sure enough, who’s one of the main players at the table? Vinny Vinh. So we’re laughing our asses off about that. Then the commercial comes on and it’s the famous crash test dummies. And my Og if the one dummy doesn’t turn to the other and say…“Vince”.
Anybody playing the .99 tonight? I played a couple of tournaments at PT over the weekend and met with quite a bit of success, so I’ve just signed on for the $5 starting in 10 minutes, and I’m probably going to do the .99 at 9.
Don’t know if I’ll be able to make the game tomorrow night, as I’m flying to Chicago tomorrow, and won’t get back until 8:30. If the plane’s on time, I should be able to just squeak in. ::fingers crossed::
That’d be just terrible if you had to miss the first game of the new quarter! Just terrible!

Uh, oh. I think Xray might be on hiatus or something…I was gonna sign up and it’s still not listed. Anyone know how to set up the game or are we too late?
…and what’s worse is he hasn’t been on the SD since 6/25!

Hmm, we’ll have to see. I might be out of the game tonight either way with some work to do. I’ll definitely still check if the PT game shows up. If not, back to the old PR (and manual “blind increases” - when we feel like it).
