Since it seems we have a rather large H*R following here, I’m going to do a series of polls to find which is the most popular SBemail. Nominate any email by putting down its menu title and, if possible, number (appears in the URL of the flash 'toon).
On Sunday, 6/22/03, I will create a new post with the emails narrowed to the top ten. Top ten voting will end Sunday, June 29th, and the winner will be crowned, barring a tie or somesuch.
Heathen. Begone. “And the Trogdor comes in the NIIIIIIIIIIIGHT!!!”
Me, I think one of the recent ones - “Funny” - is the best, if only for the floppy disk on his forehead and the bouncing-on-his-head thing.
On the other hand, being the insanely disgusting Homsar fan that I am, I also think “Homsar” is delicious. “HEAVY LOURDE!!!”
And of course, “Personal Favorites” has some of the best moments ever. “We’re takin’ this baby to the Moon!!” (It’s also the only time Strong Bad calls The Cheat simply “Cheat”, with the “The”). Based on the number of times me and my buddies quote that E-mail - “D for sale”, “Tape leg 2!”, “Prank call!!”, etc. - I’d have to also go with this one.
But then, “Crazy Cartoon” is wonderful, mostly because our friend Steve is now forever known as “'Ey, Steve!!” And Bubs’ line is a treat… “I’ll get you, 'Ey Steve, if it’s the last thing I do!” And then The Cheat’s cartoon is great… “I can do it! I will do it nine times!”
::sigh::
Just put me outta my misery, here. That site’s permanently infused in my brain. “I’m a song from the '60s!”
Well, since Trogdor, Japanese Cartoon and Techno have been nominated, I’m gonna put forth:
Teen Girl Squad (aka Comic)
Crazy Cartoon (simply because the phrase “I can do it! I will do it nine times!” is stuck in my head. That, and I would totally watch “Sweet Cuppin’ Cakes”.)
“My e-mails are like my childrens…I love them all.”-S. Bad
That said, picking a favorite is a hard one. I think “Crazy Cartoon” would be my favorite, since it made me laugh very loud and long when first I saw it. Plus, it has Eh Steve, the greatest character whose gimmick is he can only say his name since Vavoom from the 1950s Felix the Cat series.
The part that made me laugh the most was the easter egg in the last one, where SB is teaching Homestar to say fhqwghgads, and Coach Z jumps in with “Ferhorglingrads!”
I must have laughed out loud the first five times I saw that.
Also, when someone asks if SB if he can play the guitar, and the origin of “And the Dragon comes in the niiiiiight”.
