The most recent Strong Bad E-Mail, “Different Town”, is now my favorite one of the 99 so far. The song is absolutely hysterical, especially at the end with Homsar saying “Iiiiiim foreverrrr your girrrrrrl…”. I saw that and almost pissed myself laughing.
So, I pose the question to you… which are your Top Three? Mine are, in addition to the one above,
Hey, you seem to be a fan, so I’ll just throw this one out there:
The one where the game “Trogdor” was introduced wasn’t really an E-Mail. If I recall correctly, it was a Post-It note stuck to the screen with a message that he was “downstairs”, and it linked to a cartoon where Strong Bad, the Cheat, and I think Strong Mad were playing the arcade version of Trogdor.
I haven’t seen it since. Do you happen to know where I can find the link for that one?
Techno “The system is down, the system is down . . . The Cheat is grounded.”
Seconding “Kid’s Book” – “Some people are squirrel-handed. Gregor is a weird name.” Every single line out of that book is comic-gold.
Video Games is awesome, too, if only for the opening lines. “E-mail is a prison, with no walls . . . and no toilet.” And it has games at the end. What’s not to love?
Loved Trogdor, Techno and Kids’ Book, but two I haven’t seen mentioned yet are Interview (“I was raised by a cup of coffeeeee.”) and Japanese Cartoon.
In Interview, you need to click on the Post-its if you haven’t before.
The eggs at the end of Japanese Cartoon are great and multilayered.
Trogdor hint: On level 11, the bottom right hut is a treasure room. Burn the surrounding huts down, and walk into it. You have a few seconds to collect the treasures before being forced back to the game.
I love nearly all of the ones mentioned so far, but I’m surprised no one’s mentioned “Caffiene” yet. I mean, c’mon, “the wood-davers train”? That’s more laughs than a barrell of monkeys right there.
I’ve also always had a soft spot for “Mile”, even though Strong Bad scholars will debate for ages whether it is truly a Strong Bad e-mail. Another favorite is “Interview” and, among the earlier e-mails, “Trevor The Vampire” is probably my favorite.
“My e-mails are like my childrens…I love them all.”
My favorites, in no particular order:
Crazy Cartoon: Surprised this hasn’t been mentioned yet. Gotta love Eh Steve.
Kid’s Book: Not only for the book itself, but for the egg featuring Stong Bad’s take on the kid’s book that gave birth to the Homestar and Strong Bad characters. “Watch out Pete Best!”
Different Town: A silly, upbeat musical number. “…and Pom Pom wouldn’t change at all, 'cept he’d look like an ABA basketball!”
The first one I ever saw, and still one of my favorites, is “Caper”. I couldn’t figure out exactly what the hell I was looking at, but I was stuck singing “The Cheat is not deaaaaaaaad” for a week.
“Techno” is in the top three as well. I like how the Cheat flinches when Strong Bad says “GROUNDED!”
I guess my third would have to be “Mile”, only because I love the lousy voices. “Hey, Strong Bad! You jumped over some of my buses!”* waaaaaaaahhhhhh*
