Dude, you guys got beat by Tennesee when y’all mugged Netney in the 2nd round of the playoffs. You can shout “AFC Championship Game” all you want, but Cower and company were on the golf course by then.
They’re just teasing us with their dominating 2-and-oh start. They’re making us think there’ll be something to look forward to later this year while the Mariners do their so-typical-it-hurts late-season collapse.
Feh on all you Broncos, Chiefs and Bills fans. Be quiet, you Giants, Skins and Colts backers. Now it’s time for some serious anti-smack from the Jets fans contingent.
The exciting race this year, is who will be the last team to win a game? We’ve got some fascinating contenders in the race to ineptitude.
Some of the normal faces are present - the Bengals are leading the way, the Cardinals, Bears and Cowboys are playing down to their normal level. My Jets have taken a bold step toward the front - or is it rear - with their Chad-less offense.
We can’t completely overlook the Browns or Chargers, but I think they are only pretenders in this race. And the Jaguars - after playing the Panthers close in week 1, have they now shown their true level?
Then there are the mighty Eggles. 10 points in two games. So banged up at D-Line they are purportedly trying to sign Dennis Harrison and Charlie Johnson. Eh, I think they’ll fade into the winning column sooner rather than later.
My prediction? As much as I’d like to see my home town Jets get some mark of distinction this year, they’ve got too many winnable games on their roster. Dallas at home in week 4, Houston on the road in week 7. I’m going to pick the Cardinals. I can easily see the Cards going into week 9 against the Bengals at 0-7. Now, if the Bengals can also bungle till then - two 0-7 team would be a matchup for the ages.
If any of the 13 Cardinals fans in existence are reading this, try not to be too offended.
Come back, Chad…
Well, you told me, didn’t you? How embarassing.
I’m a firm believer that one cannot talk any smack after the fact unless one was willing to go out on a limb beforehand
OK, yep. I looked it up in the smack handbook and sure nuff, I was’t supposed to make fun of AD for his boastful statements.
Damn, that’s what I get for falling asleep in Smack 101 class.
I know my team is awesome. Your team could still be a fluke to this point. We’ll know in a few weeks, won’t we?
OK, so if after a few weeks am I allowed to say anything, or do I have to make some kind of bragging asshole statements first to set up the smack bragging rights?
Thanks for the help,
Bubba
tail wags a little slower at this point
Don’t worry about it BubbaDog. You wag your tail all you want, and if any damn Stiller fans give you shit, just smile and ask “41 to what?”
Hey, if we’re moving into serious smack here…
As a poster, Airman, I like and respect you.
As a gridiron prognosticator, I’m afraid you’re on par with my maiden Aunt Lil, who isn’t quite sure why all those nice men are running into each other.
I agree your boys are going to do well next week, against the… ahem… less than awe-inspiring Bengals, especially sans Corey Dillon.
But I have to tell you that I see Pittsburgh having some challenges from Tenneese, and Eddie George finding holes up the middle with ease.
So – 2-2 for the Steelers after week 4.
What did you think I was gonna do? Root against my beloved Steelers? Cha, right. And monkeys might flyout of my butt.
OK. The Bengals. Gravy game. 35-7. The coach is doing good things in Cinci, but you can’t magically turn chicken shit into chicken salad.
Tennessee. Hmmm…close game, but Porter will be back by then (I hope), and Eddie George has been demonstrably losing some of his smash every year. Couple that with the recent injury to Air McNair, and I think the Steelers win a wide open slugfest by the narrowest of margins. I’ll revise that preview as the game gets closer, of course.
Any way you look at it, it’ll be a good game.
I agree that TEN will be a tough game…but not because of Eddie George.
Have you seen him play this year? Time for him to hang it up…
34 to what?
Gee, this took a whole day? You guys are slowing down!
15, 1-5, Fifteen, etc…
Diffrenece is that I didn’t loudly predict that we would beat the Stillers.
I tihnk the Bengals are going to beat the Steelers. For two reasons.
- The Steelers proved this last week that they’ve got crap offense and defense.
- The Bengals proved last week that they can take on better teams than the Steelers and hold their own.
Watch a lot of football, do you?
I guess we need to argue over what “loudly” means.
This thread is still going?
By god, give it up already. The last time Pitt won a Super Bowl, LA still had two football teams. And this is with an all-but-guaranteed playoff spot every year, thanks to playing in a division full of patsies. Sheesh, all they have to do is win three games in a row at the end of the season–unlike other teams who have to actually compete–and they still can’t win it for almost a quarter century.
It’s almost as ludicrous as all the noise they made about how they should have been in the Super Bowl instead of the Pats, only to get demolished by New England to begin the next season.
(Besides, even if they made it, the Skins would whup em good anyway)
No, you are not the only one who hopes that the big, fat, OVERRATED tuna loses as many games as possible. What a pity that Dallas won last night. They showed Billy Boy’s career record and it is not all that impressive. He is definitely a piece of crap and a scumbag, and I just want him to fail miserably in Dallas and end his career in shame. Then maybe we can have an end to all the hype about what a great coach (yeah, right!) this cowardly:wally :wally :wally is.
This thread will be going all season, barring a lockdown by the mods.
And mark my words: the 'Skins will not ever win a Super Bowl as long as Snyder is the owner. Take that to the bank.
You’ll have to excuse me, I’m still upset over the fact that the crappy candy-asses got their fucking asses kicked by the Chiefs.
Being upset that they didn’t beat a rival of yours is fine, and calling them candy asses is all well and good.
Saying they don’t have a good offense is just silly.
So the Steelers didn’t beat KC. I had my doubts about the game, but of course I didn’t make a prediction that could come back and bite me in the ass.
If Indy can beat Tennessee, the Steelers will have their vengeance. This loss to KC will only strenghten the Steelers- they won’t have a day as bad for the rest of the year.
If Airman doesn’t continue this thread, I will. Regardless of Weirddave’s ideas about the NFL, I’m starting to like his style. Just think- (not Justhink) an intelligent Baltimore fan. Well, that Super Bowl a few years ago keeps hope alive. Could be worse- he could be a Bengals fan.
