"The secret ingredient in her scrambled eggs is whiskey."?

Where does that line come from? A film or a song or a tv show? It’s driving me crazy.

The Simpsons, episode “All’s Fair In Oven War”:

Marge: Homer, I’ve had your scrambled eggs, the secret ingredient is whiskey.
Homer: (shrugs) It keeps the kids quiet.

Granted, The Simpsons does make homage to many different forms of culture, so it could be older.

Ah great. Thanks. I should have guessed the Simpsons. I just wasn’t recalling it correctly.

Wherever it comes from, sounds good to me!

The obvious source of Eggs with Whiskey in, is drunken hens.
