The Shield -- "Snitch" (9/9/08) -- SPOILERS

I can’t wait for tonight’s episode. I’ve liked a lot of quality TV dramas over the years, especially The Sopranos and The Wire, but The Shield is the show I most anticipate.
Since this is the last season, anyone wanna play “How will the series end?” Here are my guesses:

(1) The last scene has Vic in handcuffs, being led away on very serious and real charges – charges that, one would think, not even Vic could scheme away. But he’ll have a mischievous glint in his eyes in that last scene, letting the viewer know that you can never count Mackey out.

(2) Ronnie’s going to kill himself, wracked by guilt from killing the Armenian hitman.

(3) Shane’s going to get gunned down, probably by the Armenians. He’s just never been as good as Vic at keeping all his schemes going.

(4) Dutchboy and Wyms will continue to slog along at the Barn. Nothing ever really changes there, despite seven seasons of exciting police work.

(5) I think Vic will almost singlehandedly bring down Pasuela, but Aceveda will steal all the credit and propel himself towards being mayor of LA.

I’ll agree with you on #5.

As for the others, I’d say Shane’s much more of a suicide risk than Ronnie, but I feel like Mara will have to have an active hand in his downfall.

Ronnie’ll get over killing the Armenian hit man. He’s been present at enough murders without showing much remorse - Guardo’s torture last season, for instance, when throughout the entire episode he backed Vic completely. If he gets out of the series clean, running whatever’s left of the Strike Team, I wouldn’t be at all surprised.

I think Wyms will have at least one big success as Captain, be it Vic’s arrest or something else. The interesting thing will be the bosses’ reaction to whatever happens.

Dutch might be my favorite character, but the writers haven’t given him much that’s worth paying attention to ever since Tina showed up. I just hope that’s different this season, but I can’t think of anything specific to root for.
