I have always loved the show The Shield. This is the final season and, without going into what is happening, they are wrapping up this show in short order with twists and turns and non-stop action.
The one thing that was always spectacular with this show is that you never knew exactly how things were going to turn out. Well, if the last episode was any indication, I have not got a clue how this series will end.
Let’s just say that all indications are that the lead characters will NOT be sitting around a bonfire together singing Kumbaya and eating smores.
Anybody else watching this (sadly) last season of The Shield?
Oh yeah. It’s been a great season. Last week’s episode, in particular, may have been the best episode of the whole series. How many episodes are left? 5? I can’t wait to see how it all ends.
The only remotely likable character in the whole show is, I think, Wagenbach. Even Claudette is deeply flawed.
This show is on my shortlist of “Best TV shows ever”. Very compelling stuff. I can’t imagine what the ending is. I literally have NO IDEAS AT ALL about what might happen, and I think that’s pretty awesome.
Here’s my post show idea: Vic opens up a bar. The series is called “Vic’s Place” and it’s a situation comedy. Billings runs the vending machines in back, Cassidy’s the waitress… And right above the bar is the office that City Councilman Aceveda works out of. It’ll be hilarious, I tell ya.
I used to root for Vic because in the earlier seasons he was kicking asses and taking names. But in the later seasons his asskickingness has been on the backburner and he’s mainly been trying to climb out of the holes he’s dug for himself, only to keep on finding himself in even bigger holes.
Now, I’m rooting for Ronnie. He’s developed nicely from a nerdy comedy relief background character into a more badass and much smarter version of Vic. Also, great beard.
Great show, but I am a season behind. I am on the waiting list for season 6 from the local library. A friend told me that the last episode was the best episode ever, but I don’t believe him. I can’t imagine it being better than the end of season 5.
Did your friend mean the last episode of Season 6 was the best episode ever? If so, don’t get your hopes up: the season 5 finale was definitely better. If he meant the most recent episode in season 7… well that’s arguable. Shit’s been hitting the fan like crazy the last two episodes, and it’s only going to get better.
I’ll be watching what I think is the best show to have appeared on television.
I’m sure the next episode can’t be as intense as the last–and it will be very interesting to see where they focus the majority of the episode. I’m guessing it will be with the Pezuela(sp?) issue. S&M will just stay in hiding, checking in from time to time, but that plot point won’t go anywhere this week, I’m guessing.
My friend was talking about the last episode aired, not the last episode of season 6. I simply cannot imagine anything more powerful than the end of season 5. I had been spoiled about it and it still hit me like a ton of bricks. If the current episodes are arguably close to that, then I can’t wait until I catch up.
Last week’s episode was insane. I shouted to my girlfriend, “Shit’s going down!”. I’m glad the writers of this show have the balls to follow all the strike team’s shit to its logical conclusions, but it’s still shocking for TV. I’ll be watching.
Yes, and the child could have been hit too. Claudette is now on to Ronnie, and its all going to unravel. I hope Aceveda gets brought down too, but he just might be cagey enough to get through it.
This wasn’t as good as last week–but that was to be expected. I don’t think I’ll be too excited if we have to watch Vic run down Shane like that for 4 more episodes. Vic just misses Shane at the store. Vic just misses Shane at the hotel. Vic finds Shane, but the cops pull up just in time. That’s not a good story line over the next 4 weeks.
The scene with Dutch and the boy’s mother was interesting–and hard to watch. I don’t think she’s going to be alive much longer. If the boy kills his own mother–then how does Dutch respond?
I am now getting this sick feeling in my stomach telling me that Vic might end up taking his own life. He’s off the force, now the feds don’t want him either. One of his closest friends was murdered, another committed the act. Ronnie might end up turning on Vic to save his job, and Corrine isn’t going to let him see his family anymore. He will have nothing left to live for. All the power he once commanded will be gone, and all the people he loved–in his own unique way–will be gone as well.
I don’t get that feeling. If anything, I think he’d simply decide it was better for his family that he shouldn’t be around and simply abandon them and let them be. Either that, or he gets popped by Shane.
I really think Shane is going to be killed or arrested at the least.
What does Vic live for? He needs the thrill of the chase and the feeling of being in control more than anything else in life. He has consistently put those feelings in front of his job, friends, and even the safety of his family.
What would he do next if he just abandons his family and moves on? He will never work as a police officer again–that is certain. The Feds are through using him, and I don’t see him settling down as a security guard or some such thing.
The only other way I could see this ending is if Shane gets arrested along with Vic in the last episode–and Vic ends up killing Shane right in front of everyone at The Barn–knowing he’s going to be put away for life. That would be pretty powerful.
