The Simpsons: Tapped Out

FYI, there’s an opportunity on part 18 of the main Christmas quest for mining of gift cards/spin coins, even more so than on previous parts. Don’t miss it!

The task asks you to send Lisa and Homer on a 24 hour task while putting Springfielders on 8 hour tasks. Therefore, you can keep sending Springfielders on the 8 hour tasks to your heart’s desire until you decide to complete Homer and Lisa’s 24-hour tasks. There are only two tasks after this one to complete the questline, which should take about 24 hours.

You can buy 60 donuts for $5, so it was more like $10 for 20 spins.

On the one hand, I didn’t think about that. I sent everyone on 8 hour gift card tasks three times while I was waiting for Lisa and was happy to get all those cards (but it was a PITA to catch them all running around). I didn’t think to postpone taking Lisa off her task to keep running them through the 8 hour tasks to get more cards.

OTOH, I’m going to get the last prize in the next few hours or so and then I’m done collecting cards and it’s back to money for me.

I don’t know. I wasn’t tracking where I was before. I’m only at about 25% now.

Oooh, I didn’t think of that! You’re probably right. That cuts into the value of the Snowball ii snowcat.

Well, the good news is I hit Plow King today. The bad news is, I don’t have Barney and the only way i can get him is to buy the Bowl-o-rama. I haven’t found it yet, but i think I saw it once and it was a donut purchase… A pretty significant donut purchase, so I’d rather not have won the damn thing. Seems like a rip off to me, if I HAVE to use my donuts on something like that.

Still, if the Bowl-a-rama is 50 donuts, I may buy it. But if it’s more than that (and I’m pretty sure it is a LOT more) my Plow King will go to waste.

The snowmen have not gone away in the past. They just become half melted and sloppy. Bonus multipliers remain intact.

So earlier in the thread I said that Barney is on the wheel if you don’t already have him, but I was mistaken. Didn’t want to get anyone’s hopes up for too long. I know it read it, but I think the person who wrote it was mistaken. I guess Barney’s skin is going to be in my inventory for a while because he’s a lot of donuts for a character that doesn’t even pay premium rates. Sure, he’s cool and it’s a cool building with a lot of tasks, but a little out of my price range.

I just sent out a metric crap ton of friend invites for (almost) all the people on the list a few pages back, so if you get an invite from Keeene please accept it. I have lots of bags to give out but I’m still under 10k tickets.

Toward the end of the list I suddenly became unable to send any more so I’ll try those again another time.

How is Barney related to the Plow King?

I left my Christmas tree up all year, and didn’t bother switching my houses from xmas lights to regular version for quite a while. My snow-Simpsons half melted, but were still there. Most holiday items stick around, but they eventually convert to giving out regular cash rather than event-specific currency. I still have things lying around from last Christmas, Halloween, Fourth of July, Whacking Day, etc.

I thought Barney WAS/IS the Plow King… Is that not correct?

Didn’t he and Homer fight one winter and start competing snow plowing businesses?

And. I was correct. Barney’s Bowling alley is a whopping 250 donuts, impossible to get by the grind away method. So, I’ll probably just have the Plow King jacket in my inventory until this game dies.

Oh OK I’m thinking of whatever Homer was, Mr Plow?

That’s the name, and that name again is Mr. Plow.

Plow King

Well I’m kind of stuck on these Christmas quests now. After playing for a little less than two weeks, I just hit level 12 and started building the cooling towers for the power plant. However, my next step for the Mr. Plow chain is “Make Mr. Plow Attend Church.” But first I have to “Reach Level 14 and Build the First Church of Springfield.” So no progress for Mr. Plow. Homer is back to pretend skiing.

On the holiday quest line “Too Much of a Good Thing” I’ve reached pt. 11, “Make Springfielders Enjoy a Beer.” But first I have to do “Reach Level 15 and Build Moe’s Tavern.” So I’m stuck there for a while too - I don’t know if I’ll get all the pre-reqs and the money to build Moe’s in time to finish Too Much of a Good Thing before Jan. 7…

I’m getting so frustrated with trying to play. My games are crashing all the time now. With one of my four towns, I have almost given up playing. For the past four or five days I have hardly been able to play for longer than three minutes before having it crash. One of my others was acting up just as much, but only for one day. It makes it really hard to go in to friends towns. I’ll be trying to collect in one, the game will crash, and then when I go back in I have to do the town over. I’ve had games crash three times now just after I have released my elves. When I come back, I’ve spent that tap on them, but I haven’t gotten the gift cards.

I think there is something wrong with the one town I’m having the most trouble with, but for the others, I think it’s crashing mostly when other people come into my town. When I go back in, there are new handshakes and sometimes gift bags left. It’s nice to get those, but it’s really annoying that it’s crashing my game.

Yeah, i’m still stuck on some Thanksgiving tasks, so I feel your pain. This is frustrating, but there isn’t anything. I can really do about it except grind away. Lisa has 10 four hour tasks, catching turkeys or something. What a pain in the ass.

I only have one game, but I’m having similar trouble with crashing. I can no longer get to KrustyLand without a crash, and going back into the game. It is very frustrating.

I have also had it crash when picking up packages, and just going around collecting money from houses. Perhaps EA underestimated the amount of stress on their servers, but it has become nearly unplayable the last week or so.

I haven’t really had any problems with crashes. At least, no more than the usual rate, which I haven’t found especially troubling.

Just starting out, you crack dealers. Subscribing to this thread and letting everyone on sideshowkar’s list know that I sent you a friend request. I’m

Now to go back to page 1 and start reading up…

I just had the most frustrating glitch of my young Simpsons Tap out playing experience… I wad going through my friends list, and doing my 3 actions, and dumping gift bags, when. I noticed that i couldn’t find any red tickets floating anywhere. After a good minute, I looked up and noticed that I had already been to this friend… I never backed out of the neighborhoods… I had just been going to one, doing my thing, and then hitting the arrow to go to the next one. Then for some reason, it took me back to one of the neighborhoods I had already visited, which is why there were no red tickets to be found. I had already picked them up a few minutes before.

Ok, so I blow this off, thinking. I must have done something without realizing it, so I hit the arrow key to go to the next friend, and all looks good. Hit the arrow and complete three more friends, and then notice I am back into a friends Springfield that i had just done a few minutes before. I’m not talking about right before, and maybe I hit the back arrow instead of the forward arrow. I’m talking about taking me back into my list and dropping me back i to the list at some random spot.

It did this over 10 times, and. I was ready to throw my iPad against the wall when i hit the first neighborhood in the list, the generic “Other Springfield”.

I then hit the Bart and Milhouse button ti go back to the page with three towns on it, and started scrolling through. Turns out, I somehow missed two other towns completely. Somehow, hitting the arrow button was not taking me sequentially through my towns.

What a nightmare. I have no idea if this was just a one time glitch, or if this is part of the larger problem I am having with crashes.

I will be limping through this until Christmas is over (if I can) and then i’m going to re-install this thing. If it doesn’t work, or I lose stuff in my town, I will be pulling the plug on this. I am already spending too much time on this game, and if I have to fight this hard to just complete the basic stuff, it won’t be worth it to me.

(Grumble)

Seriously, why wait? If you’ve got decent internet access, it’ll only take about ten minutes to be back where you are, and as long as you’re logged in with an EA/Origin account, you’re not going to lose anything. And if on some off chance you do, just think how much of your life you got back!
