I’ve got Clause Co., Mr. Plow and the Ice God. I still need the shelter and the snow monster. Strangely, I also still need about half of the Christmas lights.
Down to Yeti and Ice God. I realize the odds are low (1.7% and 2.3% respectively) but still I’m going to keep trying.
I’ve got the Shelter and snow Santa’s Little Helper left, I think. I’d prefer SLH because I’m not about to spend donuts on the real deal and all I have is the balloon one. I expect I’ll probably get both eventually. I wanted the yeti really bad, so I’m happy enough.
[tangent]Just saw an ad on San Francisco Channel 5 - starting January 6, they’re showing seasons 1-20 sequentially, at 6 PM and 10:30 PM. Thank god, reruns are not as common as they were, and they tend to be the newer, suckier ones.[/tangent]
I’m doing the “hunting” for the Simpsons mission now and planning to milk it out for max spin tokens until January 7th or so.
It should up me to 11-14 spins per day.
I have to get that Claus Co. at some point! Or someone dies. It’s that simple.
In my Mystery Box, I found a Mystery Box.
Inside that Mystery Box, I found a Tree.
Alrighty, then.
I’d guess that 75 percent or more of my Mystery Boxes have contained other Mystery Boxes. Sometimes more than one level deep.
I am the king of snow and ice objects.
I just picked up another SLH today. Yesterday, I got another Bart and a snowball.
I believe I have 14 snowmen and ice sculptures,
I also have 9 out of 10 christmas lights on buildings.
However, no snow monster, and no Clause Co. I really want the building, because I like it. The snow monster would be nice, but I want that building!
Too bad we can’t make trades.
Strange thing happened to me this morning. I hit a couple of packages, and a few gift cards over buildings and the program locked up and started blasting out the little “bling” sound over and over and on top of itself, creating a very loud, unpleasant sound that made it sound like I was racking up dollars or gift cards at an ungodly rate. But no, just the annoying sound. Killed it and restarted with no trouble.
Just out of curiosity, how are you getting 6-7 spins a day? Are you still finding coins in presents and gift bags? I have’t received one extra coin since i hit the 30000 gift card threshold.
Interesting, I am missing the same two items you are.
I had this happen once, and of course it gave me the prize I didn’t want. I think these are glitches in the game overloading the server.
I now have a few places on the wheel with money and have hit them a few times. And I am amused at how annoyed i get… $1000 seems like such a slap in the face after spending the time collecting those gift cards. Especially when all i want is a building or a yeti. give me my clause co and the yeti!!! ![]()
I have also received ZERO extra coins from any gift. I am at around 64,000 gift cards, too. You get one token for every 1,000 gift cards past 30,000.
I get that many in these ways:
-
Visiting all my neighbors and getting 30 from each. 3,000(3 tokens right there).
-
Getting one per day from the Egg Nog Bar.
-
I have over 70 characters and they are endlessly “hunting the Simpsons” this draws in approx 1900 gift cards twice a day, which ends up being either 3 or 4 more.
That’s 7 coins a day, plus maybe some more because I get gifts dropped in my town and get cards from those.
Wow.
I forgot about the people marching around.
I don’t have half of the character amount you have, and I didn’t even think about them in terms of gift cards. But that makes sense.
If you don’t get every prize by the 7th of January, something is wrong!
I have a general question… Is there a way to tell who has visited your town and who hasn’t? Because I am now up to 100 friends, and I know that they all don’t visit.
I’d like to cull my list and replace those that don’t stop by, but I can’t figure out how to tell I’ve been visited unless I actually see the name when they leave me a gift or touch a house and keep a physical record of it. Something i just don’t want to spend the time on.
But certain people have visited me every day, and others I don’t recall ever seeing. I go to each friend’s Springfield everyday, and some names I don’t recognize at all (other than from making them a friend in the first place.)
No, you can not tell. Really, them visiting you is not that important. You visiting them is a way bigger deal.
I get some notifications ( “so-and-so has visited your Springfield” ), but I don’t think I get them for every single visit.
I totally agree with **Mahaloth **- just try to visit every town every day - it’s the thought that counts :D, and the payout from visiting other towns is way bigger than the one you get from visits - even the non-active players can net you gift cards, and if you don’t see a metal tree you can’t drop a gift box anyways.
Trying to figure out who is visiting and who isn’t would get maddening.
In my friends list I think it states the last time each friend logged in - maybe cull those who haven’t logged in for a few weeks, as those are the ones not playing (I got rid of a few friends - even Dopers - from the “big list” in this thread that way during Halloween)
The donut sale has begun. Up to 30% more donuts if you buy some. 2400 (+720 bonus) for $99.99
If it tells you when the last time each friend has logged in, that is a good way to weed out the folks not playing.
I thought that when someone visited my town and chose something, it kicked those dollars/gift cards/whatever to me as well as the visitor… But now that I think about it, I don’t think I’ve been receiving any gift cards or money from visitors. Some folks hit my boardwalk tile, and some folks hit my crop on Cletus’ farm, (and a few people have hit both… Thank you for that!) but I doubt I am seeing extra cash or gift cards for someone visiting each house.
So aside from gift bags (which go away after Christmas anyway) what DO you get from a visitor? There must be some benefit, right? I guess if there isn’t much to gain from a visit, just having them maintain a town that I can get to is really the best thing I can hope for, right?
A visitor hitting a house does the same thing as you hitting a house. So if a visitor hits a blue house, then 4 hours later you log on and click the handshake, the blue house will only take 4 more hours to have another $ sign again. I’m not exactly sure how it works if they click a brown house and you don’t log on for the 5 minutes it would take to refresh.
Also, friends are the only way to get graffiti on your buildings, and cleaning graffiti gives you money and righteousness points
I just got ClausCo off the spin wheel!!! Yes!!!
Now that I’m almost done with the wheel, I’m realizing it’s kind of set up badly for some people. I love the wheel as a concept, but I think in execution it could have been a little better. Like having gift bags to distribute as a slice. Even just a single donut with very low chances. I don’t have much need for such little cash, so once I collect my last prize, there’s not a lot of incentive to keep high-level players like me invested in it. I don’t want to sound like “EA sucks” because I like this, but I think sometimes there are flaws.
The Golden Scratcher option is now gone. It might be because there is a Gil sale. Rumor has it that gift bags will be worth twice as much Christmas and the day after.
Grrrrrrrrrrrrrrr. ![]()
That said, I just got Plow King myself.
ClausCo and Yeti to go!
Downloaded this on December 13. Now, bear in mind, I am unemployed, and have lots of time to farm Brown Houses - 106 of them every 5 minutes adds up. I have all 10 Personal Gift Card prizes, and am almost at 32000. I think that I have outleveled my quests - I’m still building the control room and Gulp N Blow, but the task bar wants me to build the church and Moe’s - I have the required level, but they won’t let me build them.
This game is very much to my addictive personality.
