The Simpsons: Tapped Out

The reason I have a bunch is that when my tree hugging rating drops it is easier to buy 1 or 2 Greenpeace boats to bring it back up than buying and placing 20 trees.

I have a few of them because they’re the only boat that doesn’t cost donuts.

I recently bought all of the land too, mostly because my XMas area had spread out too much and I wanted all the XMas stuff together in one spot, all the Halloween stuff together in another, etc. Just means I have to wait to buy the two $10,000,000 dollar items, not that they are needed for anything.

I’m a long way from finishing. Ain’t gonna happen. I’m a little sad how they tweaked the quests so that all the OCD types who must be setting alarms to log back in every time the MacGuffin refreshes can finish, and those who only visit 1 or 2 times a day can’t (though I try to, but don’t always succeed to, make 3-4/day during the quests). But for the most part, all I lose out on is some decorations, so not that big a deal.

I hear ya, D_Odds. I’ve been playing over two years, and I’ve reached a point of “peace” where if I can’t get a reward by playing once or twice a day, then I’m not their target audience.

I think they should extend the event or increase the drop rates of things because of the glitches and lockouts, but I doubt it. They should have fixed Easter and they never did, so I doubt they’ll do it with this one. The best to hope for if you’re close is to not update as long as you can.

I read a “where’d that come from” on one of the tsto sites about the faux game stop and saw it came from a 2007 Simpsons game for DS and the Wii and a bunch of other systems, and that it had some good reviews. I figured maybe I could score a used copy pretty cheaply and the prices were outrageous! On ebay I saw just the case for $3 or so and the game sells for around $10, give or take a few dollars. Now, that’s not an outrageous amount of money exactly, but for a used, 8-year old game? I thought that was kind of crazy. And there are a couple for $10, but many, many more selling at $20+.

Anyone play it? Is it worth buying?

Just got my desert island this morning. Additionally, there are smaller, purchasable islands available today, two cost donuts while the third costs cash. The big island does include a task for Homer but I am not sure what happens after the task, I have Homer on another task currently.

I usually can only play 2-3 times a day and I have never finished out the prizes, but I really only care about getting characters. I should be able to get Ralph tonight or tomorrow and then I’m done elfing because I don’t care about the last two prizes.

If you’re talking about “The Simpsons Game”, I own it and it’s a pretty good (but not exceptional) platformer. Lots of fan service, lots of funny moments. If I recall, I got a good 40+ hours out of it playing through the main story and trying to get all the collectibles, but I was an achievement whore back then. I would be willing to pay $10-15 for it today, but the $27 GameStop charges is a bit much for a 7+ year old game.

Got mine too. Four hour task for Homer putting on sunscreen. He’s on it now. The island has a crashed plane, and what looks like sleigh wreckage on it. As far as I know it doesn’t generate any cash.

The game message also says you can get donuts if you keep on collecting bells. 4000 bells for what I assume will be three donuts, like they did for the last phase.

I’m not going out of my way for that.

1 hour/60 minutes I believe. After that it seems nothing. No lounging on the beach animation or something like that. No survivor Santa. Lame.

It’s something to put in the water, I guess. You can also buy mini islands for cash now.

Ok, that’s about what I figured. I think I’ll keep an eye out for a used copy that’s in the $10 and under range, which is still more than I think something that old should be…

Where’d you hear that? I just got one last night after buying a bunch of land and cleaning it all up.

Are you confusing it with the balloon-pop game in Krustyland? They did remove that due to giving out too many donuts (although I only got donuts once!)

I read that the Krusty game is only not paying out during this event. Something in the event caused it not to work but they don’t think it’s worth the fix as it’s only a temporary issue. I’ve got 20 or 30 donuts from it in total. It’s the main reason I go to Krustyland, although the 100k I get every couple of weeks from converting tickets is nice too!

I keep hearing they are extending this event, but I see no sign of it yet.

I hope it’s not extended. I’m 390 bells from the Spruce whatever the heck it is, and I should get that, but I have no interest in getting the island if I have to keep hunting the damned flying bugs. I just want rid of them.

I just got the spruce, and even if they did extend, I wouldn’t get the next item, nor the next (useless) cannon upgrade.

http://tstoaddicts.com/ says that they will be extending the event due to the crashes for an extra week.

If you complete the prizes, it’s mystery box donuts every 4000 bells. I got my first one today. So while I am ready for the event to be over, I’m not outraged it’s still going because free donuts.

I played today on an iphone5s and holy smokes was it fast compared to my other devices. It was like a different game. i couldn’t even keep up with the zapper.

I have to update my fast play status. After I posted here, but not immediately after, I started to visit my friends. I have about 100 and went to all of them and had one crash. In less than 20 minutes I am done. Usually it’s at least 30 minutes on a good day. I open a town, read some posts while I wait for the town to load, but there was no waiting for towns to load. Almost instant. SO WEIRD.

I was so fatigued from the event that I won’t make it. I need an extra week to finish.

I’ve gotten all the prizes, and just got my three donuts for the 4K elf launching bonus.

I’m officially done with this. I’ll launch a few elves here and there ('cuz it’s fun), but that’s it.
