The Simpsons: Tapped Out

The automatic update hadn’t been triggered yet but when I checked later the update was available.

Halloween event drops on Wednesday, per TSTO Addicts.

Is there a time it’s supposed to go active? I got the update but nothing changed so far.

TSTO Addicts says 11:00am EDT

I think it started already. At least, I’m getting some sort of storyline starting.

ETA: Looks like the same mechanics.

Wow, looks like a ton of stuff to spend donuts on.

I got it now.

I’m a little disappointed (but not surprised) at the prizes. I can’t even really buy anything or mystery box anything because I have multiples of everything already

I have to admit, I do like the toilet papered Flanders house.

I pulled a 100 donut prize from the old shack/land deed thing. Other than that, I don’t have much to report. I don’t know how y’all accumulate thousands of donuts. I don’t know that exploit.

Activate XP Collider. Buy a bunch of Bloodmobiles or Rat Trap Delivery Trucks. After collecting your donuts, sell trucks back.

I do that when I get low. It’s too boring for me to build up thousands. I try to keep a few hundred in the bank.

Same. It can certainly get tedious.

When we hit the level cap, there was a glitch and I sat on the game for a couple hours just grabbing donut after donut. I just kind of… let the principle stand and play off the interest

A long long time ago,… when they still had “crafting” during events (you collect currency, then use them to craft items), one Halloween you could craft Wailing Walls. I collected a whole bunch of whatever, then crafted over 100 wailing walls. At 2.5% each (or 2.25%, whatever) added to the cash and experience multiplier, that’s a HUGE bonus. Then, I kept the XP Collider going non-stop. Started KEM farming. At that point, I was getting 36+ donuts every time I finished then sold my KEM farm. If you’re logging in 4 times a day (first get up, noon, dinner, bed), that’s almost 150 donuts every day.

Then, I started buying. Any time something is in the vault where the final donut cost per 2% increase is less than 40 donuts, I’ll buy one (or more). So, if you can get the Rocket Bike (at 2.5%) at 40 donuts with a 10 donut rebate (30 donut final price), that’s a great buy - worth 50 donuts, you got for 30.

OVER TIME, that builds up. Once I hit 10,000 donuts, I stopped with the XP collider - it slowed my game down, and what the hell do i need with that many donuts anyway?

Then I hit the “cash” maximum. Well, got to get rid of the extra cash somehow. So, now when my cash gets close to maximum, I rev up the XP collider and buy a bunch (300? 500?) of rat-trap trucks. I’m now at 70,000 donuts. Every rat trap truck, with the XP collider on, gets me 6+ donuts.

Thanksgiving quest just dropped and they have a Black Friday event: If you purchase 2,454 donuts worth of items, you get a donut producing robot. You have to buy them though.

I’m currently at 695 donuts and I’ve been buying stuff with them lately.

New winter quest just dropped today. I got the Geriatric Snowman and Old Man Winter bundle. I have plenty of bonus skins for Abe Simpson, but I decided to get it for the snowman bonus.

The past few weeks I had been making more monorail tracks in order to get the donuts, usually I would get two sets of three per week. I figured that can’t be worth the effort though. I am running the XP booster and I can put those Springfieldites on other tasks.

I haven’t played yet, but the required update is HUGE! I’m still downloading to my phone the nearly gigabyte of data it needs.

Why does it need that much data?! It’s just a dinky mobile game!!

You need to do yourself a little farmin’. Kwik-E-Marts have the best experience-to-cost ratio, and if you’ve got that XP booster running, the donuts come quickly.

Figure out how much cash you bring in on an average session. Keep one Kwik-E-Mart (Apu comes with the first one you buy); set up a “farm”. The second KEM costs something like $250, and gives you 2000XP when built; the third is like $300; forth is $500; up to $14,000. Build as many as you can pay for in an "average’ session (or if that’s a hellova lot, just build a bunch. I’ve got a 90-building farm). Next time you come in, “harvest” (build) all your KEMs; get the rewards and the donuts, then sell them. Re-build. Lather-rinse-repeat.
