Someone in the household is on The List. Someone was watching a John Wayne movie at 3 in the AM. Someone didn’t bother closing the bedroom door. So I got, maybe, 5 hours of sleep last night. Someone will pay… I’ve got a killer headache and after 2 hours of tossing and turning, I just gave up and got up. I am full of grrrrrrrrr
rosie, you’re the first person I’ve heard say anything good about that movie. I’m not a movie-goer anyway, but the TV commercials turned me off to it - maybe I’ll see it on cable.
No idea what today’s plans are. I was going to do laundry, but my laundry room is still in shambles and it will be much of the day. I do need to get some things organized since the cleaning sisters come tomorrow. I also need to get the crap out of the green bedroom since my BIL will be staying there. Looks like it’ll be a house-cleaning day. rah.
Good Mornin’ Y’all! Up and caffienatin’. We had tboomers last night. Big tboomers! I haven’t checked ye olde raine gauge yet but I’m hopin’ we got at least two inches of rain as hard as it rained.
Rumbly tummy wants to be fed so I shall forage from some brekkies before purtification for deheathenization and the reception afterwards. I have a beautifully arranged plate of cheese crisps all covered in plastic wrap sittin’ on the kitchen counter. As we all know, it’s all in the presentation!
The trailers do not do it justice. Carell isn’t just off the wall idiotic, his character is quite sweet.
Humid. bleh. Supposed to rain on and off all day. Which means friend who bailed last night will not want to go out today either. bleh. Oh, I said that already, didn’t I? Well, BLEH!
Good morning! Another day in paradise here at work. I made excellent progress yesterday, and should be able to finish up today and have a drawing that hopefully will get minimum mark-ups on it.
Hubby was a dear yesterday, and had a meatloaf all ready to pop into the oven when I got home. And the potatoes were peeled, and green beans in the steamer! It was yummy, and I brought some for my lunch today.
He’s doing laundry and grocery shopping today, too. I made out the list, but I have a feeling I’ll have to answer a million questions while he does the shopping. He knows I’m picky!
Poor Ernie has started that awful hacking/gagging that means kennel cough. He’s always had a touch of it, despite getting his shots on time. Mr Rebo might have to take him to the vet to get some pills. I remember last time, though, they didn’t help much. We’ll see. It’s pretty much only when he first wakes up in the morning, and it started yesterday morning.
Ok - I better get to work so I can get out of here at a decent hour.
Happy Sunday, mumpers! I am having a quiet day after the excesses of the last couple of days. Got up late, had a bath, mooched around the house, had breakfast, took 'im indoors to the station and now I’m back home contemplating what to do next.
I am going to make an aubergine pasta bake later so I have already cooked the pasta, just got to sort out the rest of the stuff and resist the temptation to eat all the halloumi! Other than that, I have no plans. The cats are both asleep so I may just make a cup of tea, grab some strawberries and spend the rest of the afternoon on the sofa with a good book.
Up waaaaay to early for a Sunday but I am checked in for tomorrows marathon trek across country. I haven’t had a Sunday in I can’t remember how long where I have not been already headed to the airport/will be headed to the airport in an hour. I am a bit lost on what to do with all this time I have today.
I was a slug yesterday - made it to the grocery store but then I came over all sicky and dizzy - mr ems is very concerned that I am pregnant with the cravings and the pukey feelings but I really am not but he is doting on me and takign care of me so I am not complaining - so I pretty much spent the rest of the afternoon and evening laying down. I feel better this AM so today shall be productive. We are going to the Home Depot to get a couple things then they shall be installed today but first mr ems is taking me for breakfast. Whoohoo!
Up and caffeinating; had an almond croissant with the coffee today. Next on deck is grocery shopping!
I can’t believe you’re having to work yesterday and today, Rebo, but how nice of MrRebo to help you out/share in the chores! And Mrmmmmm deserves a good placing as well–what a sweetie! BooFae, can you share your eggplant & pasta recipe with us please? I am partial to eggplant!
I am hoping to get to the Indian grocery store today too…they have frozen parathas that are just delicious, and all you have to do is heat em up on the griddle! And they’re just like home-made!
We had a lovely visit with my daughter and her boyfriend up at their place. We shared laughs, swam in the pool for awhile, came back in and ate too much good food, and shared some more laughs.
We finally left for home around 8:00 and got home around 9:00. The dogs were still in the backyard and were damn happy to see us. I was kind of worried because this was the longest we’d left them on their own outside. When we left, Brandi was barking her fool head off, but when we came home the all was silent in the backyard. Hopefully, she didn’t bark long.
We left them with bones from the butcher and food and water outside so, hopefully, the bones kept them busy and they played too.
We’re supposed to go buy our friend’s birthday present today. Another set of friends has given their money toward the cost of the present, and I’d really like to just get it out of the way. I’d also like to go and get a pedicure and I need to buy some groceries too. Finally, I’d like to get gas for the grill. We’re out.
That’s about all that is going on in taterland. I hope you’re feeling better, ems.
I’ve got 2 peach streusal pies in the oven. Next chore is the small guest room. But I just want to sleep. I went back to bed and was almost dozing off when **FCD **came in (he’s slept in the guest room because his back was hurting and that bed is more comfy for him) - anyway, he likes to sleep really close, but he twitches in his sleep, which kept me up. Oh well…
We’ve had some rain, and we’re supposed to have more all day, including maybe some t-storms. Yay for rain! But doggone, is it humid out there! How much longer till autumn??
Back from deheathenization and reception. We munched enough munchies to call it N.O.L.. Anywho, our Summer Youth Intern was recepted (receptioned? receptionated?) well and given a stipend of a thousand bucks to help with stuff like tuition and books or to buy liquor. I don’t judge. It’s her money.
Now it’s nappy poo time. It’s hawt and hyoooooomid out and may get stormified in a little while. Our seldom right weather forecast is callin’ for tboomers this afternoon. We shall see.
ETA: The weather forecast says we’ve had no snow in the past 24 hours. If that’s not a sign of the Apocalypse I don’t know what is!
Rearranging the bedroom today. I had to deflate the bed (it’s an airbed). Now it looks like I’m going to have to move the frog cage & very heavy solid oak dresser table it sits on.
There are two strong young men downstairs. I’m going to get one of them to help me. That’s what they’re for, right?
I wish to state that I hate FSA. That’s the Flexible Savings Account which is pre-tax money that you can use to pay for medical expenses. It’s supposed to happen automatically. It did. Once. Not since. So I’m having to put in for reimbursement for glasses and prescriptions. And FCD’s hospitalization. I only set up the account for $1500, so we’ll max it out - we probably already have.
After this year, I’m not doing it any more. It’s a royal pain in the patoot. Someone else is sitting on my money and I have to ask for it back - that’s just so much BS!!! So once I get it all back, I shan’t play any longer. What a racket…
MOOOOOOM that’s dumb you should have to ask for your own money, I agree.
I had a nice nappy poo. It’s still hawt out and no signs of tboomers yet. Mayhaps I should go outside and tap my foot at the sky?
I forget to mention this earlier BBBobbio and Ruble. We sang the Lutheran fight song this mornin’ at church. I thought about y’all. Don’t ask me why. So, if you did not go for deheathenization today you can say you were thought about by someone in the process of deheathenization.
I tried one of those FSA things, (it was called something else at the time), one year.
They took the money out of my paycheck all right, but when I turned in my ‘claims’, half of them were denied as not being covered. I ended the year losing money, and it didn’t roll over. I complained bitterly* to HR, but to no avail. Then I told everybody in the company about getting screwed, and the next year they had to drop the whole thing, 'cause nobody signed up.
iffen you’re gonna complain, bitterly is the way to do it.
You see, I committed the mortal sin of allowing this household to get down to two rolls of TP. This is a three bathroom house and they all get used.
I have now rectified the sitch, but boy was I cutting it close!
I also went out and got a pedicure. After that, I went grocery shopping and spent $300.00 on I don’t know what. Christ, it seems like the food is getting more expensive every week!
I came home, the groceries were unloaded, and I made the hubby and I a sammich.
Now, I’m going to chill for a bit. After, I’m going to make spaghetti with meat sauce and meatballs. What can I say, the boys really, really, really, really, really like meat.
