The situation facing Susan Collins

Maine is a very mixed state. We have to work hard to defeat Susan Collins, and we’re not letting up. She’s not out by any means, she just knows how to delay.

I read it based simply on what it says: Trump has the authority to nominate someone, thus she wouldn’t object to it, since it’s in the Constitution. But personally, she thinks the person elected in November should be the one to do this. That’s essentially what you meant too, right? I wouldn’t mind reading the whole article, but can’t get it…

Rachel Bitecofer tweeted that for Collins to win in November, one has to believe that thousands of Maine voters will vote Biden-Collins instead of Biden-Gideon (Biden currently leads by five in the polls).

Stuff like that indeed happens and her length of service in the state probably makes it as probable a likelihood as ever. But if an anti-Trump blue wave happens, she’s probably toast.
