The spooooookiest MMP

It’s a nice little town. Very pretty. I even got used to the one-way streets.

No damage to the house, though the cat sitter did say she did a ‘tree check’ after the storm.

One house in our area has a decoration made to look like a witch crashed into a tree, with her arms around the trunk, and part of her broom sticking out the other side, poor dear.

We usually have some candy on hand, but we don’t go through it very fast. We’re still working on last year’s Christmas candy.

The deer carcass is gone. Either a big animal dragged it away, a weirdo dragged it away, or (most likely) a neighbor called the county. I meant to, but with all the Mom-cooking, I forgot. On the plus side, I’ll be taking her 2 small tuna-noodle casseroles, 2 small meat loaves, some egg salad, a pound of pulled poke, serving of chili, and a sack of sketty sauce. And I hope she’ll be up for lunch out, or I’ll stop for something on the way.

Otis seems pretty much back to his old self. He ate a full supper then went out to bark at the world. We’re just going to forage for supper.

I started another lap blanket. And thus was my exciting day.

Afternoon all. Back from the gym workout and my new title was in the mail, so I have an appointment tonight to hopefully sell my old car and can finally put the new wheels in the garage (have kept the old ride there so I wasn’t tempted to keep driving it). Will Uber home and do the paperwork with the Insurance and State tomorrow. At least that much will get cleared up (I hope!!). Need to procure dinner, my notes say Sonic Drive-in and all in all that’s not a bad choice (I try to vary my Moanday fast-food habit among all the places). Also need to get my donation stuff together for Purple Heart to pick up tomorrow, so the evening will be interesting.

Quick review, need to get some things done.

JtC, you folks are good people.

Boo Fae, feel better soon.

:grinning_face_with_smiling_eyes: I would, but the turnover rate there is astounding, so I’m never quite sure who will be on duty that week.

FCM, great job on the root beer, I have about 10 12-packs split evenly between Diet Pepsi and Pepsi Zero (Diet the first half of the day, Zero in the afternoon/evening).

nellie, the picture in my head of the Missionary and Ms Dog gave me a wide grin; thank you for that. ANd never have used Zelle, in no hurry too after your adventure.

shoe, if the bed is there and you are in it, what else is needed??

I did. Not perfect (none are), but they did pretty well with brother and I.

And gotta run, things to do before car sellin’.

The floppy Kong frisbee has become the favorite toy for Ms Peach. It does a nice “wubba wubba” when she shakes it in her mouth. She’s pretty good a catching it, but I gotta say she looks ridiculous barking at Brian the stray cat with it stuck like a taco in her mouth.

Brian was missing for most of the summer, but he’s shown up in the side yard the last couple of days. He wisely stays out of the fenced bits that Peach can get to.

We opened our new water feature, 5 days later we have to winterize it and close it down for the season. And I’m not going to be able to make the kid moveable dams until next spring. Assuming I still have a job. Still don’t know if I will be there past Jan 1. I gotta start looking for a new job, but I like this one.

Um … potty trips.

Video, with sound, pleeeeeeeeease.

I still haven’t figured out how to post video. But I’ll do my best. Sometimes discourse will let me post a youtube, sometimes not.

It is very silly looking.

Howdy Y’all! Been a dreary day. Not as much rain as TWPTB predicted, but overcast and gray. It’s even a bit chilly. We (gasp!) turned the ceilin’ fans off even. All in all a good day to be inside and stare at stoopid teevee and such. I made the baby jalapeno and cheese cornbread muffins to go with the beast stew. A good sup on a chilly day.

The local food pantry we help support has been askin’ for ramen, mac & cheese cups, instant oatmeal, instant grits, cereal and the like for several weeks now. We’ve been buyin’ such and takin’ it to church every week. I think we need to double down on that now. Any Mumper suggestions for other foodstuffs?

MOOOOOOM what a great idea to take those meals to your mom and sis! Glad Otis seems no worse for wear for his extra ummm culinary event.

BooFae and Nuts thanks for the info on Guy Fawkes Day. Since royal we have been watchin’ shows about the English monarchy lately our interest in such matters have been piqued.

Nurse niece came over and browbeat the wife into getting needed appointments. She won’t listen to me about it, but she will listen to her niece. So she now has another brain MRI scheduled and a couple of ultrasounds for heart and carotid, among other things.

These are the can’t fail instructions for posting a YouTube vid to SDMB’s configuration of Discourse. Works 100% of the time. If you follow the recipe.

Baby formula. That stuff’s expensive! I buy the big cans of powder. Baby food is also really pricey. Once we were feeding a hospice cat meat baby food during his last days and when he was gone, I thought I’d drop the rest at the local food bank. It didn’t make it through the door before a woman asked for it.

Nurse niece deserves some good chocolate, what a great kid!

So Harry’s grandkids left the cut down branches in the gully and then someone else came and cut the little stuff off and tried to just load up the burning stuff and leave. Harry did not allow that, so the rest of the little branches got dumped over the fence into my deadhedge. That offended me, he could have put it in with an eye to which direction the branches were so I went out and started fixing it. That offended Harry and the guy who made the mistake of asking for the free wood ended up coming back to help make it look pretty.

I don’t think that guy will be asking for anymore free wood.

I like your theory and would like to subscribe to your newsletter. :stuck_out_tongue:

The middle one on the right foot. I bumped it on the bed frame Friday and the skin was broken. Being diabetic, I don’t mess around with foot issues.

I had an issue with Zelle a couple of weeks ago. Apparently, they not only required my email addy and all of the other info, but my phone number. While I haven’t changed phone numbers, I did recently change carriers and got a new phone, so that may have had something to do with it.

When I delivered for MoW, we worked with the Joy Center of our town’s shelter to deliver pet food and kitty litter as well. It was a greatly appreciated program.

Save your video to a photo hosting site (I use Flickr, but IMGuR is good too), open the image up in a new tab, copy the link, then link here.

Applesauce cups, fruit cups, mini cans (some of those are in plastic like applesauce) of veggies, tuna / chicken salad kits. There are a lot of single serving, shelf stable food out there if you look.

I took my poop in a box to UPS today, then explored Antoine Antoine Drive until it changed names. I found a few places where Sis and I will be sure to stop on our girls’ day out. The UPS store that I went to was in a shopping center almost identical storewise to the one where Tar-jay was in my last place. Now I have a few questions for Sis about the third name for yet another street that I used to know.

I read through the link, there is a way for folks on EBT to get free food delivered for free.

Sir Charles and I went for a royal ramble. He got scritches from two people and chased a squirrel up a tree, so he’s happy. We saw this as part of a Halloween yard display. It gave me a giggle:

JtC is the go-to person for what’s needed, but I’ve included cans of baked beans, jars of peanut butter, and pouches of tuna. So much of the food donated lacks protein. Sometimes I’ve donated little boxes of raisins. The food programs I’ve donated to won’t take anything sugary, which I understand, but sometimes sweets are good for the soul. I figure raisins are sweet, and they make a nice addition to oatmeal.

red, do you get embarrassed sending the poop-in-a box? I cringe thinking that everyone figures out what’s in the box.

VanGo, I sure hope the job continues past January 1st. Fingers are crossed!

I bought a Butterball turkey today. Usually I get our turkeys from Trader Joe’s, but these were convenient and we have room in the outside freezer. It’s 14 pounds, but it was the smallest one I could find.

I made stir-fry for dinner, using some BIBIR USDA Choice bottom round that was in the freezer. Two rather small (but expensive) bags of frozen Chinese-style veg, a 7-ounce package of sliced mushrooms, toasted sesame seeds (that I then toasted), sesame oil, and bottled stir-fry sauce. Unfortunately, the beef was far from tender.

Stupid question about MMPisms. I finally figured out the meaning of sheveled and in the opposite of disheveled, but what is the meaning of “off to heave”?

I had a day off work yesterday, as explained in the last MMP. Nice to have a day to waste watching too many photons.

Got the kids up took one to school with his friend, got the girl up, got everybody’s breakfast lunches, daughter off to school.

This is the problem with having kids when you’re older, I should be thinking about retirement but that ain’t going to happen for a while.

Doggio works in a UPS sorting center loading packages onto trucks plus other similar tasks. Which is not a gentle process. Many things get the heave-ho during a shift. He refers to his leaving for work as “off to heave.”

Ah, thanks! I was about ready to fire AI because nothing was coming up.

I teach, so I presume that wouldn’t be good for me to use. Or at least not good to admit.
