The "squirting" debate

Essentially not at all. Concentration of urine depends on overall hydration level (and a few other factors including ADH levels), NOT how long it’s sat around in the bladder.

The filtering and concentrating is done in the kidneys. So if the urine is more dilute, it’s a kidney effect, not a bladder one.

In the interest of science (really, because I’m not into this) I have examined some of the videos purporting to show this phenomenon and in all cases it appears that the woman is urinating. Some closeups clearly show the stream coming from the urethra; in the rest the stream power and volume all have the characteristics of urination. However, I recognize that smaller, but still potentially embarrassing, quantities could be coming from Skene’s gland. Therefore, I respect the observations of the squirters in this thread, and find it fascinating, but on the other hand Slow Moving Vehicle’s lauding of the coolly-scientific nature of this board is overstated. The SDMB is, after all, where I first saw, “Pics or it didn’t happen.”

Cool! Thank’ee. I had never been able to figure this out by personal observations.

(One weird effect is that, say, at 1:00 a.m. my bladder will feel terribly, terribly full. But if I ignore it, by maybe 2:00 a.m., it has stopped feeling so painfully full. I thought it might have been absorbing water through the walls and putting it somehow back in the bloodstream. Now, I can only guess that the sensation of pain gets dulled or dimmed somehow. The nerves get tired of hollering, or my brain gets tired of listening, or something.)

Roughly 12.8277%. Due to a hard disk crash, some data was lost.

I have indeed occasionally had excessive liquid appear that I associate as coming from the Skene’s glands. It would occur around ovulation and usually with good oral sex. The liquid is thick, clear to white, and smells nothing like urine. I’ve produced enough of it that standing up can be quite messy. It’s a lovely, sexy fluid and KY can’t begin to compare to how, um, glide-y it is. It feels delicious.

I would venture to say that what you are experiencing is a combination of the normally increased vaginal secretions during sex combined with the changes in cervical mucous during ovulation. Around ovulation, the cervical mucous becomes thin and stretchy, like egg whites, and some women have enough of it that they need to wear protection. It may be that when you have a powerful orgasm, the combination of this discharge along with the normal vaginal discharge produced during arousal is enough to cause your symptoms.
