I actually think the NHL Wheel of Justice is more consistent than the actual NHL discipline process. It doesn’t surprise me that the status (star player or not) of the player comes into it - just look at the history of suspensions so far! Is there anyone out there other than NHL executives who feel Campbell or his sidekick does a good job at this?
Great game for the Sharks, albeit after one horrible period. They were running into each other, missing passes, fumbling pucks, breaking down every way the could think of. Then to reverse course so completely, it was striking. The top line, and Danny Boyle, finally came through.
Great comeback by the Sharks…Kings forgot how to play defense in the second period and Sharks made them pay.
I can’t believe Kuni was so stupid – he’s never been a dirty player. Total bonehead move on his part.
Downie’s a different story.
Sheesh. Another lucky carom for the Rangers. What is it with the crazy bounces?
I didn’t know they practiced voodoo in New York.
Jesus fuck, Caps! Lundqvist is too good to let those 30-foot shots through. You gotta crash the net, dammit!
DAMMIT.
Freakin’ Rangers…
DAMMIT DAMMIT DAMMIT.
I guess we’ll have to wait for Saturday.
Seven. Freaking. Seconds.
Signs of life, Uncle Brother…
Tie game! Don’t let up, Caps.
Don’t get me wrong. I love the Caps. But you know what they say of DC teams.
They’ll find a way to lose.
Caps (last year v. MTL; never won a cup in franchise history)
Wizards (Not since the Bullets, and I’m not going to talk about the gun episode)
Redskins (Dan Snyder. 'Nuff Said.)
I don’t watch soccer, but everybody seems to think that the United are the best local team. And I’m not counting the Hawgs or the Fun Bunch. I’m talking post-1990.
In the Caps’ defence, Montreal found a way to win!
Though I’m rooting for the Rangers, because I know the Habs can beat them if they end up meeting! Also, Henrick Lundqvist, but not because of hockey.
Gah, I can’t wait until tomorrow!
My friend from Brooklyn and I have agreed (disgruntedly) to not discuss this quarter final series until it is over.
But you - You just made the list. I’ll offer you the same agreement.
…As we go to DOUBLE OVERTIME!!!
Meh, I know the Habs can beat the Caps too (see 2010 playoffs), but I prefer beating the Rangers, because it’s generally easier. Gotta save energy for the next round, yanno? ;D
TB-PIT is also headed to double overtime. Crazy.
That just might be the worst way to give up an OT goal I’ve ever seen. Ouch.
Almost 24 years ago to the day, I sat with my dad and watched the Caps play through 4 overtimes to lose game 7 to the Islanders. Heartbreaking. I happened to be home visiting on the east coast and got to watch tonight’s game with my dad as well. Serious deja vu was kicking in as we went into the 2nd overtime against the Rangers. Glad it had a much happier ending!
Still, they played like absolute shit that second period. It was a fantastic comeback, but they can’t afford a single more period like that if they want a shot at this.
Cursed Wings! Proving me wrong by getting the sweep of the Coyotes. Guess I’ll just live with the disappointment.
I wonder if we have seen the last NHL game played in Phoenix for a very long time. With the whole mess over the Fiesta Bowl political payoffs, I’m not at all certain the Coyotes will work anything out.
Well, the guy who has been a week away from purchasing the team for 3 months didn’t go to one of their playoff games. That is not a good sign.
I stayed up to watch the game but went to bed right before the deciding goal. :smack:
