The State Fair - a Minnesota MMP

Back from the marina and stuff. We bought a new AM/FM/CD player for the boat, and removed many greasy wires. I learned some stuff about our engine. And I found the schematic for the engine instrument wiring, which will make FCD’s job easier. We brought a bunch of stuff home, and he’s in the basement now making up a wire harness. I’m about to do some pre-craft show stuff, then package all my pots and figure out what table cloths and sheets I’ll use. Less than a week to go.

I’ll be peeking in from time to time, but I’ll be busy for a couple of hours. But I’ll be thinking about you - all of you! No, really, I will! But especially, well, you know who you are…

I fixed the printer and have taken my shower. I’m trying to help my daughter with some editing issues in Word, but she’s getting snotty, so I’ve quit. Sigh…

The son is out mowing the lawn so he can earn some spending money.

I’m going to have to start picking up the house and do my grocery shopping. I was thinking about re-doing my toenails, but screw it. I don’t feel like messing with them today. One of these days I’ll break down and just go get a pedicure at a salon.

Just popping in for a sec…

I’m about to head to the store. I’ve planned my menus and…

Well, I just came back to the computer. I forgot I was composing a post! I’m a big dummy.

So, I’m back from the store, and the babyback ribs are grilling. The baked beans are ready to go, and the corn is shucked. Dinner in 2-1/2 hours. Yum!

Sorry I missed you jayjay! Thanks for bringing some superb weather to us! And I’m very glad you’re having a wonderful time.

I just finished printing out and cutting out a bunch of price tags. Now I’ve got to attach them to the assorted pots which I will then wrap and pack. I’ve decided to price high. No sense in undervaluing myself.

I’m worth it, dammit!

Well. thanks alot, jerkface.

For breaking into my daughter’s new car (the Mini for all who are keeping up) and stealing her purse while she was running. Yep-thanks for shattering her window on the driver’s side.

Thank god she is not hurt. She lost a dearly loved Coach bag that her grandma gave her, her driver’s license and her school ID. They didn’t get any money, since she doesn’t have any.

All pieces priced. I’m having ice cream. Life is good.

Rigs yikes! I’m glad your daughter was not hurt! I’m sorry she lost that bag she loved so much, along with her license and school ID. Pain though it will be, at least the license and ID can be replaced. It sounds like daughter needs some TLC and hugs right now, so, {{{Rigsdaughter}}}.

In other news, I have the MMP all composed for tomorrow. Upon my arising, I shall post it. Remember tomorrow is a holiday here in Amurrka, so my arising shall be a bit later than usual, but prolly still early enough for most of us.

Just send me your phone number, and I’ll make sure you’re up plenty early! I’ll be up, since Bernie makes sure I take her out for her morning constitutional…

Just because I care…

That stinks, rigs. Glad daughter is OK.

LiLi, perhaps you can coordinate the proposals and let QuasiDaughter know that she has to marry Driving Husband because otherwise we would get confused by the introduction of additional family members somewhere down the line. Yet another romantic reason for QD and DH to marry.
I don’t envy you the start of school, MBG.

So, did you see me on TV? What? You weren’t glued to AVP on NBC? I’m deeply disappointed. (For those of you who, like me, haven’t a clue: I’m talking about beach volleyball.) It’s unlikely you saw us except maybe during the wave, which was just about the only time the camera moved in our direction. We had really good seats - wound up in a section of general admission that was roped off until we got there, so we wound up in row 2. Because our section wasn’t filled chock-full with fans holding weird inflatable noodles, the camera pretty much ignored us. It’s amazing all the crap they do just for TV: flipping over the ads along the sides of the court (there were about 10 ads that were rotated throughout the game), warming up the fans to that they’re cheering exhuberantly when the coverage begins, other stuff I’m forgetting.

We saw one game that was held on a court that was out in the open (it was one of the women’s semi-finals) and then the women’s finals, which were won by Misty May and Kerri Walsh. Then we stood in line for something like an hour to get Misty May’s autograph. (Niece REALLY REALLY REALLY wanted her autograph.) Gotta say she’s a good sport. We were close to the end of the line and she very patiently signed stuff and smiled and posed for pictures with what seemed like half of Cincinnati. Someone was taking a picture of a group just ahead of us and dropped their camera. Misty even helped put the batteries back into the camera.

Now it’s continued cleaning, laundry and other stuff in preparation for Faraway Best Friend’s arrival. Hope they get here pretty late in the day, because I’d really like to feel like I’m ahead of the game…and I’m getting pretty close.

I’m home from work. The day started out kind of badly. I misset my alarm, so I came to work and hour early. At leat the rest of the day went well. I’m eating dinner, corn on the cob, baked N.O.T, and steak. I’m even off tomorrow, Happy! Happy! Joy! Joy! You know, these MMP threads have been getting shorter lately. It’s like everyone is getting to the point of things, which violates the purpuse of MPSIMS.

swampy, I’ll set off a foghorn to get you up. 0300 sound good?

FCM and CanineServant I really (trust me, really) appreciate your efforts in assuring the MMP will arrive in time, but it ain’t necessary. Trust me. Heck, it’s not like it’ll be one of those Rue (Hi Rue) holiday postings that come a day late. It will appear on Monday like it’s supposed to, just maybe not real early in the morning like one of my [del]shanghaied[/del] volunteered post would usually appear cause of my gettin’ up early for work (though not as early as FCM does, mine are second earliest at best, not counting the cheaters who post on Sunday nights, but we won’t name any names cause that’d be just tacky) but, it’ll be early enough. Trust me. Really. Would I lie? Well, never of course!

In the true spirit of the MMP, let me just say that I made ovenfried chicken, rice and carrots for dinner.

And it was good.

sweet dreams, all.

I’m probably going to head up to Shreveport for the (temporary) duration. I have connections there, which is the essence of getting anything done, I think.

I totally ignored this thread at first – MMPs are so long and so badly hijacked they’ve become meaningless. But then I listened to “Prairie Home Companion” this weekend, and fell in love with Minnesota all over again (I’ve never been there, but people from Minnesota have had tremendous impact on my life, without ever knowning it.) For those who didn’t catch PHC this weekend, Garrison & Co. broadcast live from the grandstands at the Minnesota State Fair. (If that fact has already been mentioned, well, byte me – I’m not gonna’ read six fucking pages of an MMP to discover this scintillating fact.) Anyway, some day I’m going to Minnesota during the summer, for one reason and one reason only: To actually eat a deep-fried cheese curd!

Obviously, young Grasshopper, you don’t understand that “hijacked” and “meaningless” comprise the essence of the MMP. Plus it’s concentrated “hijacked” and “meaningless” - distilled here instead of spread thither and yon by people starting even more inane threads when all then need to do is post in the MMP and get it out of their system.

MMP - Keeping MPSIMS clean and tidy, because we care.
It’s 6AM here on the east coast - where the heck is that indolent **bear ** with our new MMP??

You fergot the “Dammit.” :stuck_out_tongue:

Bobbio, you’ve helped craft my new sig!

Geez you’re a cranky ol’ broad before you’ve had coffee! It’s up. I said it’d be later. I didn’t lie, did I? SO THERE! :stuck_out_tongue:
