When I saw the thread title I thought somebody might know what time this version’s shutting down.
Still here at the moment, I see.
I got a maintenance notice for a moment until I refreshed and it reverted. I think they are staring switching soon.
I got a 504, or maybe it was a 502, just now; but those have been common. And I’ve been getting intermittent maintenance notices since sometime yesterday; so while those may be related, they probably don’t mean the switch is imminent, at least in the sense of “in the next few minutes, or the next hour or so.”

I think the maintenance notices are automatic and from the same root cause as the 502/504 errors-- They’re just what the system outputs when it realizes that it’s screwed up. So seeing them sporadically is only a sign that it’s “about to change”, in the sense that they’re a sign of the problems that are the reason we’re switching.
Though, when the switch is actually under way, we’ll probably also see that page, except for an extended time (I think it’s projected to be a few hours). And when it goes away, we’ll definitely know, because then we’ll see the new board instead of the old one, which does look different, despite matching the look and feel as closely as we could.

Just in time to actually say hello! Not that I have been posting much here anyway, except in the Cars thread… I expect I will lurk a bit on the new one as well, though. I just checked my details were up-to-date as per instructions, which implies there will be an email about the change when it happens.

I don’t know that there’ll be email sent when it happens. The reason given for checking one’s information is that, when you sign in to the new board, you’ll have to provide a new password; and a confirmation link will be sent to your email. If you don’t get the confirmation link because your email’s wrong, then you won’t be able to sign in; in which case, or in case of other problems, email TubaDiva at the link that’s been provided.
Now watch us be here all day…
…but of course, every time that happens, it’ll be more work for her, and it’ll be easier all around if she doesn’t have to do that, so we’d really prefer for people to make sure their e-mail address is correct now, when it doesn’t require manual overrides.
