The Strain; season 3 (open spoilers)

Season 3 starts tonight on FX.

So anybody else watching? I think this is probably the best thing on Sunday nights (at the very least it has the worldbuilding lacking in a certain show on another network). I’m glad they keep reminding of the timeline too; it’s easy to forget it’s been less than a month since the Master arrived in NYC.

I haven’t but (Netflix? Hulu? One of the streaming services) keeps recommending it to me. Want to tell us who don’t know it a bit about it?

It’s based on a novel trilogy by Guillermo del Toro & Chuck Hogan. The vampires are very different from most fictional vampires (definitely no erotic aspect ;)), but it does a very good job of showing society’s slow collapse.

So apparently Palmer is building about 100 human abattoirs all over North America. There’s obviously a lot more human collaborators than just him & his lieutenants; I with that would get explored a little more. Only 2 more episodes left this season.

Well Zack might need to die. I know he’s just a child and his undead mother brainwashed him, but if you’re old enough to detonate a nuclear & betray humanity to the vampires you’re old enough to hang for war crimes. I kinda with I hadn’t found out it was renewed for a 4th & final season since it meant I knew going in that the Master would survive. Speaking of, Master Eldritch was pretty entertaining. I’d like to see more of him next season, but I don’t see the Master bothering with the makeup so there’s not much point. It doesn’t seem like there are any human authorities left he’d need to deal with as Eldritch.

Yeah, most narratives have kids who are unbearable because they’re annoying characters or irritating plot distractions. But Zach is far far worse now. He’s gotta go.

I didn’t post here because I was always a few weeks behind on this show but I really liked Season 3. It was cheezy fun and I was shocked they had the nerve to end it the way they did.
