You may call them “noseeums”. They are the little invisible bugs that eat up your legs when you walk in the woods or through tall grass.

One of the funniest things I’ve seen for sale was an ebay auction for an “imaginary girlfriend”… the kit came with pictures and personal items you could place around your house, some love letters and a whole bunch of other things so that your friends/family would think you actually had a girlfriend. I’m not doing it justice here, but the whole writeup for the item was hilarious. If anybody else knows what I’m talking about, or could provide a link (I can’t find it on ebay), I’d appreciate it. SDMB was where I heard about it.
