Went over to neighbors for a quickie at lunch. Good time.
Sorry, Swampy, I only went for a short, fast bike ride; no TMI details!

{{{Drae}}} Poor kitty, I hope he will be ok.
FCM I agree with hanging clothes out. We haven’t had a clothes line here in ages and I think it’s a shame so many communities ban them. Maybe one day hanging clothes out will be something only the wealthy do, or rather their laundry maids do, and having a clothes line will fall back into favor.
{{{Taters}}} for your mil.
{{{Rosie}}} I feel your blurf and raise you an upset tummy and some aggravation to go with it.
I’ve asked the company I work for 3 times for a YTD earnings statement for the mortgage company. THREE TIMES!!! Friday I was promised I would have it today and still no statement. I can add it up, I can send the mortgage company copies of all my back statements showing the deposits, but they want an official statement on official company paper.
My new print head just arrived. If it doesn’t work I will scream. Now I can get the pics printed and the announcements mailed.
One more thing to cross off my list!
On the words of Swampy - GO ME!
My mom called - we’re booked for our cruise next year. YAAAAAAAY!!! Balcony cabin on the 14th level - we’ll be way up there! And because I’m a veteran, we’re getting a $250 cabin credit, plus our agent is giving us another $200 - ChaChing!! We’ll fly to London, then be transported to the ship in Southampton - all arranged ahead of time so we don’t have to bother with anything. And our agent is looking into having a car take us from NYC to my mom’s house - how cool would that be?!?!? I am soooooooo excited, but dang, can I wait a full year and then some??
That’s all I’ve got. I’s tahred and I’m gonna knit till I can’t focus my eyebones. Busy day, but we got a lot done. Yay! Pics- the first 6.
i appear to be the 3rd plague survivor in the household. Still tired and headachy, but able to walk reasonably and eat small amounts of dry Cheerios. Woo hoo.
Hugs to sari, Drae and Taters.
Looking forward to pergola pics. And yay on the booked cuise!
Hugs all.
GT
All of the pre-op examining is done now.
Happy blurfday! Should be about over for most, I hope.
Regarding emergency vet stuff…maybe it was just the clinic we were patrons of in California, but I ended up calling the emergency line once when our puppy was acting all weirdly, including throwing up. They called the on call vet, who got on the phone with me and talked me through the possible ties and what to REALLY watch out for, and didn’t charge a thing. I was very grateful.
Howdy Y’all! Home from men’s night over to the church house. 'Twas a wunnerful time as usual. When I left the clean up crew was hard at irk. I’ve trained 'em well.
Really. It finally got understood that there are those of us who set up faithfully so there should be those who clean up faithfully. Go Me!
{{{Taters}}} re your MIL. It’s always tough to watch someone, especially someone you love, go downhill. Hubby will come to grasp with this eventually, believe me. On a lighter side, yay for daughter’s weddin’ dress and the pendin’ nuptials. I know how excited y’all must be over this.
sari if need be we can send a box of pointy stick wieldin’ Sri Lankan Spiders to your irk home office. Just say the word. You will get through the mortgage thing and when you do, just think… you can run around in your own place nekkid yellin’ MINE!!! ALL MINE!!!
Yay for booked cruise MOOOOOOM! Betwixt that and the fancy-schmancy clothesline, you’re just all uptown on us!
Ok, on that note I shall go lie upon the bed and watch me some teevee until sleepy time.
Nitey Nite Y’all!
How is he doing? I worry with no news.
I’m getting used to these pretty good days… I sure hope the continue for a good, long time.
Sounds reasonable to me. Yay!
Had a good time walking around town today. Took many pictures for work.
Tomorrow I’ll organize the pictures and practice the ukulele, hopefully all day.
Morning all, it’s another day in blurfland for me! Actually it’s not too bad today, the sun’s shining for a change and I’ve got the office window open to get a bit of fresh air in.
I had a busy night, my doting parent got her replacement Kindle yesterday and rang me three times in the evening about how to do stuff with it. She had charged it up and couldn’t remember what to do to download a book (luckily I’d already been into her account and moved all her books to the new device) so I talked her through that process. Then I realised she’d bought the book for her old device and not the new one so I had to go back in and sort that out.
Now that she’s got all the right books on the right machine, I have unregistered the old one so she can’t accidentally buy books for it again and then phone me in a panic because they’re not on her list. Well, what do you expect? She’s 78, you know…
I have to go to Fat Club tonight and face the scales, not good as I had a rather wobbly weekend (medicinal wine when I got home on Sunday from nearly being squashed on the motorway) so that might not turn out well. Also, I have been rather rash and promised to do cocktail night on Saturday so I need to work on a plan to get some weight off in order to put it all back on again at the weekend! Such is life, eh?
Drae, fingers crossed for kitteh, hope the news is good today.
Happy Toosday!
It’s a sticky 71 degrees with a projected high of 81.
Swampy I am so looking forward to the day when I can run nekkid around the house screaming IT’S MINE ALL MINE.
Sah-son will flip out because seeing your mother nekkid is just one or two steps below the gross out factor of realizing that yes, your parents really did have sex.
I had the weirdest dreams last night. I was getting married.
I was extremely wealthy, or at least my family was and I was pissed off that the room where we were having the reception wasn’t big enough for the way I wanted to lay out the seating. The piano and sofa were going to be too close together. I was demanding that they rebuild the room to my specifications. I forgot to get a band/DJ, yet music was playing the entire time. I was supposed to get married at 1pm, it was 3:30 and I hadn’t even gotten in the shower. The groom told me ‘oh by the way I have a date tonight, that’s okay with you isn’t it?’ and it was as long as he was home by 2am.
Then I was riding in a car on some country road, with a man, woman and their son. We were chasing peacocks which were roosting on the power lines. To do this you put on a white glove and wiggled your fingers at them and they would gobble like turkeys and fly away. The game warden showed up to make sure we weren’t abusing the peacocks by scaring them too badly, you could only scare them enough to make them leave, not enough to traumatize them. He was upset with me because when some peacocks flew into me I waved my arms at them. Then the woman kept saying they had to buy a snowsuit for their son who was going to Hawaii, which made perfect sense once you realized that Hawaii is a town in Illinois.
One thing about assholes, just when you get all mushy and start to miss them you can count on them to do something assholish and piss you off all over again.
Squeakers slept 5 hours last night and is right back to sleep after waking up to feed! Yay for a good night.
**sari **- I’ve had some weird dreams in my time, but yours is right up there! It has potential as a M. Night Shamalamdingdong movie!
**Apes **- yay for sleeping babehs!! Of course, since she’s such a wonderful infant, she’ll probably become a psycho teenager who pierces everything, tattooes everything else, joins a band, and lives in a van… ah, parenthood.
I woke at 5 without benefit of puppeh, but she was up within half an hour. Cat horked in the dining room. It’s overcast and humid as all get-out right now. Just another freekin’ day in paradise!
Last night, one of my friends from high school called and we talked for almost an hour - tho mostly she talked. She’s having a little get-together in a couple of weeks, so I’m going to plan a weekend at my mom’s and go to the party on my way home. One funny thing she told me - her dad (who’s in his 80s) had a date and her middle sister had a FIT!!! Good grief, the man has been a widower for 5 years and he just took a woman to lunch, but the sister was aghast! Sheesh…
I got an email from another HS friend - she and I were in the same college for the one year before I enlisted. One of our fellow classmates who I haven’t seen or even thought about for 40 years died recently of a heart attack. I guess we’re at that age now when we can expect to see our contemporaries start to die off. Dang.
Sometimes getting old sucks.
Plans for today: Benches. Yesterday afternoon, I water-sealed all the lumber for the bench/railings. Today we’ll cut them all to size (65" long) and I’ll seal the cut ends. Then we’ll assemble them in the two remaining gaps, and the main part of the pergola will be done. We still need to settle on the center section that will join the two parts and we haven’t bought the clotheslines yet, or the lattice for around the base… dang, we still have a lot to do! But after the benches are in, I’ll put up clotheslines if I have to take the old one and thread it in place temporarily. Then I can do laundry the end of this week. Yay!
My sis and her dogs are coming over tomorrow to spend the night. She and **FCD **are going to go back to the biker leather store so she can buy or order her chaps. Lucky me - I’ll have 3 additional dogs for company while they’re gone! Thank goodness for a big fenced yard!
Happy Tuesday! Send chocolate!
Hey, now it is not as chilly in the morning as it has been in the past couple of weeks. Pretty soon, it will actually be warm even in the morning.
Also, the longest day of the year is on Friday. That is pretty awesome as that is pretty much the only “fun” and “relaxation” day I am getting for the the next week. I have exams starting this Friday and on top of that a load of shit I have to do (part of it is my fault too) so that is also why you will only see me here very scarcely for the next few days. My last exam is next Wednesday, and then I am done with freshman year at HS!
Morning all,
Work sucks muchly! That is all.
Another day, another kick to the head.
Holy crap!!!     I just RSVP’d for my 40th HS reunion, tho technically it was last year. There’s a joint class of '72/'73 reunion in Sept, and I’ll be going with at least 2 of my buds to represent '72. ![]()
I was just at one of the alumni sites - we’ve lost a lot of classmates to disease and auto accidents. Not surprising, I suppose, from a class of almost 850, but still a bit too much of a slap of mortality. ![]()
Those were my FIL (1.0)'s last words.
You watch your ass! :dubious:
