The Surprise! MMP

I got a surprise subscription to Mental Floss. I suspect it’s a Christmas/Birthday present from Older Sister but I have not confirmed. I have enjoyed, though.

My husband worked for a contractor at NASA and while most of what he did had to do with transporting various and sundry payloads around the country for manufacture and/or testing (not like you just bubble wrap the stuff and toss it into a box - he had to design holding fixtures, environmental systems, monitoring systems - some real high-tech stuff!) - anyway, he did design something that ended up going up in a big rocket. But if he wanted to impress people, he didn’t talk as much about the ground transportation, which is too bad. Some of the stuff he worked on was really cool!

NASA ground transportation is indeed cool! Just look at the Crawler-Transporter. I wish I could have had a chance to see that thing in action.
