The Surprise! MMP

If it’s in there for 1000 years it’s gonna smell real bad in the jail house.
Then again nobody every said it’s supposed to be a pleasant experience for the guests.

I’ve been working as a consultant for company A, which placed me in a contract-to-hire situation with company B, which has me working onsite at company C, where I have an email address and have been happily working for four months. I completed the -to-hire part yesterday and am now, in theory, a semi-permanemenent employee of company B.

It turns out I have an email address for company B that I’ve never heard of before today. They haven’t given me a temporary password to use to log on to the Company B email, because until yesterday, I wasn’t supposed to be logging into Company B’s intranet. I’ve also received word that I need to empty out or save all the email in that account before they can add company C’s email address to company B’s address book.

It also turns out that the information about how to log into company B’s intranet (and therefore, email) was sent to that email account. I can’t help but wonder what other helpful information might have been sent to an email account I didn’t know I had, wasn’t supposed to access, and wasn’t given a user ID or password for.

I am also now starting to receive frowny emails from HR insisting that I enter my time and get it approved, which, of course, requires an email. And a SecurID token. Which they just ordered today.

Cousin Scott is gone. Rest in peace, Cuz’n.

Sorry, Bobbio.

:frowning:

My Sympathies. Loosing a cousin sucks. :frowning: Saying a prayer for you.

I’m so sorry, Bobbio. :frowning:

I can probably do a few pages of stories about growing up with Scott, but I’m not in the mood right now. I am glad I went back to Indiana to see him when he could still talk to me.

Ethi - don’t you just want to smack them?

Well, I’ve been on both sides of this, so I know what’s going on on their side… they’re stuck with a weird-assed process they have to follow, and they really can’t change much in how things work.

I’m done with that 12-hour day and now I’ve got a hot date with my pillow. See y’all on the other side of nighttime.

Doing the Snoopy dance of joy along with you. GREAT news there.

Still can’t figure out what last night’s kitchen experiment did wrong. See this Cafe Society thread for particulars. At least my second experiment (similar concept with cornbread batter, taco meat, and cheese) worked better.

Rather disappointed in this disc I got from Netflix. “Grey Gardens” is nowhere near as interesting as I had thought it would be.

So you go on a hot date & spend the night, huh? How you doin’?

Condolences, VBob

If you continue to harass the Ladies, we will continue the discussion of blowers on Harley Davidson motorcycles, and you can explain it to FairyChatMom.

You watch your eight legged ass.
