I somehow missed the hood. Off with her hood!
It’s hideous. Unless you are reaaaaally tall and you wear it with a pair of jeans. In which case it would be a sweater; not a dress. In which case it wouldn’t need to be BURNED out back with other evil fashion mistakes. But sadly, it needs to be torched.
Hey! I play this game with my friend all the time! It’s called “Love it, Hate it” and we play with an assortment of catalogs. It’s frightening what kind of bizarre get-ups are out there…just waiting to be scooped up by unsuspecting shopaholics.
Hmm. I was expecting a 1980’s-style shapeless calf length tube of fabric, but I actually think that dress is cute. Wouldn’t look great on me (or anyone else with a few pounds to lose), and I could definitely live without the pocket, but it’s not the atrocity I was expecting. I wouldn’t pay $119 for it, though.
And I love the boots. Knee length or shorter skirts with tall boots rock.
It’s just…wrong. It would be okay if it didn’t have that horrible hood and pocket. I wouldn’t wear it even if it didn’t have the damn hood and pocket, but at least I wouldn’t do a double take while trying to cover up my shock and horror.
And $119? The hell? For that thing? Just buy an XXXL sweatshirt and be done with it already!
I tell ya, yuppy clothes are getting uglier and uglier.

Ooh! You reminded me of a game from my po’ childhood. My friend and I would look through the catalogs and you would have to pick exactly one item from each page to “buy” (or set of pages, depending on how many items per page). Some pages would have too many cool things to choose from, but some pages would be sooo awful… And you had to explain what you’d do with each item, which got pretty creative on the atrocious pages.

It’s not that hideous. I kind of like it :o
But the colour is revolting…
Well, I think it’s pretty nice, but then, I’m oriental, and oriental girls rarely have problems with jiggling, and are generally waif-ish anyway.
Male, FTR.
I do that NOW on a regular basis.
As for the dress… I like it. Yes, even the color and material. I’m thin and rather lacking in the curves department so I can’t see it being too flattering, but it looks very comfy and snuggly.
I wouldn’t buy it, but if it were given to me, I’d definitely wear it.
The cut of it looks great on her, but I could never get away with it with my figure. Minus the appalling pocket and hood I like it. Even the colour. But then I must admit I’m a bit of a wool fetishist.
I thought it sounded vile, was expecting one of those shapeless numbers from the 80’s, traditionally worn with horrible, wide belt at the waist. Ewww…
Lop off the hood and the pocket and it would be something I MIGHT wear to relax around the house. If it were cut shorter it would look like a lot of shirts that I like to wear (long sleeves, good on an hourglass figure).
Not as bad as it could be, but it’s not something I’d expect to see anyone wearing on the streets. But then again I thought that about those fuzzy boots that were the rage for summer.
HEATHer BROWn.
I’m not a big fan of “heather anything,” really. But the dress isn’t as bad as I was expecting from the description. I’d probably wear it, but then, I have a couple of polyester minidresses that I wear, along with a black taffeta '50s thing with a red lining that is my official “formal” dress…
Minus that stupid pocket I love that outfit. I have an hourglass figure so that A-line cut would be great on me - waaaayyyy better than those knit tube sweater dresses in the 80s were, anyway.
However, I would NEVER pay $119 for it. I don’t like it nearly that much. I like it around $50-$60 worth.
It might stand a chance without the pocket and the hood and the color. But then it would be a whole new dress.
I like the sleeves and the overall cut.
think of what you would look like if you actually put something in the pocket
I was ready to jump in and defend the sweater dress (I’m a curvy gal and was handed down a black-grey one from my mum that is just so comfy and surprisingly sexy on me), but that one’s just ghastly. Given the body type it’s designed for, I’d say it could definitely lose the hood, the pocket, and be less baggy in the arms.
Did anyone use the “zoom” feature? I did and had a moment of fright that the pocket was coming to get me for my criticism…
If it were longer, it would look just like a robe I had. It looks more like a hoodie than a sweater. Those damn hoodies are taking over the world!
Lose the pocket, and add a pair of black tights, and I’d wear it-at the very least around the house. It looks extremely comfortable and warm.
I think it’s fantastic if the wearer is auditioning for a role as Joan of Arc
I think it looks kinda nice, if a bit “Logan’s Run”-ish. (Or maybe Star Trek: TMPesque, which is worse.)
The pocket is truly gruesome. Wrong lenght, wrong color. Don’t like the hood.
The sleeves are kinda okay, though.
