"The Takedown" - Court TV

OK, what is the deal with this show? It’s supposed to be about this team of uber-con artists raging through casinos, pulling big cons and ripping them off, but it’s obvious that a good chunk of it is faked. There’s no way that a lot of the footage they use could be obtained without several camera crews clustering around the con, which, hi, if that’s not a tip-off to casino security nothing is. Not to mention that some of the cons they supposedly pull are so old and obvious. Like tonight’s episode, the “six shoe switch” in blackjack. Which would have worked perfectly, assuming no one working in the casino had ever seen the movie Shade.

OK, actually, I can believe that no one working in the casino had ever seen the movie Shade.

But I digress.

So yeah, the show looks like most of it is faked and the cons are lame and even when they get caught (which has been like half the times I’ve watched), they congratulate themselves on making the big takedown.

See, I had a feeling I might be the only person on the planet who watches this show…
