Lucky you that he’ll still respond. With my kid, a dual-major at UCF in Astrophysics and Aerospace design, I need an appointment.
FWIW, he sounds like a Log Cabin Repub coming…clean?
ETA: going to hell aren’t I?

I meant queer as in different. You know, like the theme of this very thread.
Reporting in.
Valete,
Vox Imperatoris
Sounds like a really smart kid. Must take after his mother.
Yes, this is also an interesting thing I’ve seen here on the dope. Anyone who says they don’t like Obama gets bashed as a Bush supporter. He who declares himself anti-Pepsi gets bashed as a water-carrier for the Coke lobby.
I hate half of Bush just as much as I hate half of Obama. The problem is that I can be socially liberal on my own but I need those in power to be fiscally conservative. It does get difficult when the fiscally conservative folks get nuts on the socially conservative issues (e.g., the DOMA), but what’re you gonna do? Who is John Galt?
Also I’m not so worried about the USA being an “international pariah,” whatever that means.
Taking the word back…back.
Next you will hear of the Christian Mothers Society having a gay old time at the cake bake.
Ah! Well, that’s all sorted out, then. Still a lawyer, though, yes?
When was the last time that a Republican President was fiscally conservative? Eisenhower? I’ve said it before – if the Democratic party is the Tax & Spend party, then the Republican party is the Spend & Spend party.
In your narrow world that is, for I see you keep ignoring reality:
Hardly. She’s an American.
But I do give her credit for she is a die-hard Democrat and Obama backer. As is my cocky whippersnapper.
What brand do you recommend for water-boarding? They need to look good on Polo chinos.
Much appreciated.
“There you go again . . .”
Look! Someone’s got a new toy!
Mark me down for a big “I don’t give a shit about that link no matter how many times RedFury posts it.”
Well, a double major. Indecisive, yes?
Yes. I’ll save you a spot.
He got his MBA at Harvard, though.
Degrees from both Yale and Harvard–what an elitist!
I took luci’s use of the word ‘world’ to mean the U.S. outside this board. We have been speaking of liberals/conservatives in this country coming onboard here, so I took luci’s use of the word to mean the U.S.
Having said that, I join Rand Rover in not worrying about the U.S. as a pariah.
I’m sure they’re both fine people anyway.
Oh but you will believe you me.
Don’t thank me now.
Good company, 'luc, good company.
Over and out. “The God Delusion” awaits.
Hey, at least Nigeria thinks more highly of us now. Wonder if it has anything to do with all those scams…
Ooh, a very vague prediction of something bad for the US. Surely there’s no way you would claim victory the next time any little thing happens . . . We’re still here after 911, so I’m confident in our ability to handle things (unless Obama is elected and guts the military and starts appeasin’ the hell out of things).
You’re about to read a great book though, so I guess you’re not all bad.
I seem to recall that this was the retort Reagan made when Mondale scoffed at the idea that you could spend your way out of a deficit. It seems to me that we’ve been spending at a tremendous rate of late, but it’s not decreasing yet. Perhaps we should spend more and reduce taxes again. This time it’ll work, right?
Reagan said it to Carter first in their debate as a response, IIRC, to Carter’s reassertion that Reagan was a shoot-from-the-hip ideolog who was likely to get us into war.
It paid off bigtime for Reagan then, and not so well the second time when Mondale was ready and waiting for it.
