The too tough to die MMP

Good Mornin’ Y’all! Up and caffeinatin’. YAWN ‘Tis < snerk > 69! < snerk > Amurrkin out and cloudy with a predicted high of 72 with rain/tstorms/apocalypse all day. We shall see. This mornin’ we shall procure comestibles. I have a doc appt. this afternoon with my newly appointed GP. This will be my first time seein’ him. I am told this is a get aquainted appointment. Does this mean he’ll serve martinis and hors d’oeuvres? Sup shall be salmon patties, smashed N.O.T., peas, and bizkits just cause.

Nameless good on you for givin’ that jerk what for with your cane! The cats will forgive you if they get extra gushy fuds.

red boo for dealin’ with the plague, but yay for the plague pay!

doggio try a bedazzled baseball cap.

Now I need more caffeine and to feed rumbly tummy. Then, alas and bother, I suppose I must needs purtify and don appropriate bein’ amongst the great unwashed attire. Woe!

Happy Hump Day Y’all!

@JaneDoe42

I wish I had been there to see it! Good job!

I got up ten minutes ago. The coffee wasn’t on. I must have forgotten to push the Delay button last night. It’s almost done now.

Looked at my computer. It says 05:20. What? The clock on the cable box says 05:20. Apparently, my clock radio ‘sprang forward’ six days early. I could have slept another hour.

No wonder the coffee pot didn’t turn on.

The kidlet snarfed down 6oz of formula, then crashed within half an hour - he’s still snoozing. I’ve got a load in the washer that should be done soon. I made breakfast for FCD and I’m waiting to hear from BCBS as to whether they’ll pay for the rapid COVID test we need before we travel.

That sums up the excitement here so far. Envy my life if you dare!

You are awesome and if I had been with you I would have stomped on his hand once he was down on the floor. Scum like that deserve to be whomped.

I’m turning in my retirement notice today.

:balloon: :confetti_ball: :tada: :confetti_ball: :tada: :balloon:

Congratulations peedin!

Morning all. Up about 6:30am, taking naps the afternoon before messes up my sleep habits, we’ll see if I can stay awake today. Need to buy stamps (usually get 50-60 of them, that holds me for a year or so) and stop at Kroger for a couple things and also get my swimmin’ in. Thanks to all for your congrats on the exercise, I am a creature of habit (much too tall to be a creature of Hobbit…) and as long as it is part of my daily habits, I’ll keep it up. The big challenge will be in May when I’ll be gone for the cruise and if I can get back to it when I return.

Unknown, quite a day out, I would say! My congratulations to you for actions above and beyond, so many of us never know what we will do in such a situation, you acted and did good–thinking about going out a buying a cane now… And seriously, take care of yourself; you had a big adrenaline rush, you did something (violence) that you very seldom do (as far as I know), so there will be some effects (maybe the headache). No going looking for trouble today!

Boo fae, best wishes to Ophelia; and yeah, starving before having blood drawn is no fun for us humans either…

doggio, we could be related; our hairlines are nearly identical.

Hope Husband-unit gets to feeling better soon, Dicey

Wet one, congratulations on the impending descent to slothfulness; swampy, hippie, and I welcome you (FCM is also retired but is much to active to be a full-on sloth… )

I feel honored to know an IRL bad-ass.

Who also stitches.

Jane, I would have done something like that but only after I stopped being in shock, which means it would be too late. Good on you, I wish I could have seen it. Did you by any chance get recorded, by a security cam or something?

I got Mauser home yesterday afternoon, and he’s still kind of subdued. But he did get a spoon of peanut butter( it had two of his pills). I had to inject stuff in his ears too. That will go on for ten days, the rest of the stuff for five.

peedin, congrats on upcoming retirement. For me the best part of that is getting out of bed whenever I feel like it.

Heaved. And had to drag around 110kg of crap from Guy in London. I may need to borrow boofae’s pointy stick wielding Sri Lanakan spiders.Or maybe Nut could hook me up with some tiny itchy plants.

 :champagne: :cake:

Thanks for the support everyone. I know everything was recorded because one of the sheriffs commented on the quality of the recording while wishing all businesses had that sort of system. The sheriffs treated me with much respect while handcuffing the jerk to the ambulance gurney. The sheriff told me that if the jerk doesn’t plead guilty, I will probably have to appear in court.

One of the sheriffs commented that I couldn’t have laid the jerk out like that pre-COVID because I wouldn’t have had swinging room before social distancing became a thing. It only took two years to find the silver lining in that cloud!

HURRAY!!! ONE OF US, ONE OF US…oh, wait…ALMOST ONE OF US, ALMOST ONE OF US!!!

I’m chagrined at how much sly pleasure I got out of this thought.

I’m glad you were there, and I hope she wasn’t hurt too badly. Good job you!

Doggio Now with a pork pie hat! :smiling_imp:

flyboy I think “surprise” Spring Forward sounds much worse than a planned one, especially with delayed coffee.

Wet One go you! Retired Drain on Society to be!

Today I’m fixing to take a little walk with my mom. I’ve been having some MS symptoms and I don’t really know all the rules to this stuff yet, so it will be a little, wee walk.

I used one of my kitchen gadgets last night and we had chicken made in the air fryer. It worked well and my kitchen did not overheat. Tonight will probably be crab cakes for 3 of us and leftover chicken for the boy.

I have been on hold with CVS for 25 minutes to get them to process a prescription that has multiple refills. I miss the days of neighborhood pharmacies.

ETA: hey, they finally got on the line. Computer error! Wheeeeeee

*makes mental note to stay on JaneDoe42’s good side…or, at least, out of her reach…*

But seriously: way to go!! :fist_right:

I do NOT know what is wrong with me this week, y’all. I continue to be Out of Sorts, for no good reason. It isn’t like me to be randomly grumpy for consecutive days. Yesterday I started wondering if I might need some time off work. I just had a four-day weekend last month – though it was a busy/away-from-home weekend – but maybe I’ll take a few days off in April. After my program’s current hiring surge calms down (one of the hats I wear is staffing manager), and after I’m done with this certification exam prep class. Maybe as a reward for passing the exam…or as consolation if I fail.

I’m at my office building today. I was happy about it this morning – a change of scenery, not having to take the dog out in the rain multiple times, seeing the one other co-worker who comes in on Wednesdays, a reason to wear jeans vs sweatpants, etc. – but now it’s almost 2:30 and I’m almost over it. I blame my general lack of sorts. It’s still kinda fun to not have to wear a mask or think about social distancing anymore, though.

Pizza Hut used to be my favorite: I loved their pan pizza! But a few years ago, the one near my house closed and I stopped being in the delivery radius of any other locations. I was actually kind of sad for a while. I tried Papa John’s once or twice, but Domino’s became my default: their handmade pan crust is decent, I love their parmesan bread bites, and the chocolate lava crunch cakes were always a nice finishing touch. (ahhhh, memories of things I will never order again… )

Toby had a 3+hour nap today, so I had it pretty easy. After he woke up, I changed him and fed him, and while he was slurping down his bottle, he decided to fill his britches. So I got to deal with that mess…

But he’s home now. I ran by Food Lion for a few things - we’re having N.O.T. soup and salad for supper. I was amazed to see an assortment of frozen spuds, and I grabbed a bag of crinkle fries. I’ve got about 20 minutes to kill before I have to start the soup. I’m already stahvink! I didn’t have much of a lunch. Oh well…

It’s still drizzly/misty out - not sure when it’s supposed to clear up, but I’m in for the day. FCD has an MRI at 6:45 in the morning, so he has to get up at 5:15. It’s a 40-minute drive to Prince Frederick. So I’ll be up early too. rah.

sunny, your hair is loveliness itself, whatever the length.

Happy very belated birthday, boofae!

I’ve been skimming but not retaining much. We managed not to get blown away by the tornadoes in Iowa this weekend, though on the way back, all the tops of the trees had been torn off for a couple of miles, which was a little alarming. The memorial services was nice. Weird, but nice. I’m one of eight kids/step-kids from my dad, all of us distributed among four marriages.

The whole thing had a vaguely Jerry Springer-esque vibe, only no one was throwing chairs and we all knew who our parents were. Also, my dad apparently had his ashes mingled with his dog’s, who passed away two years ago. None of us really had a problem with it except for one of my former step mothers.

Anyway…

My oldest pet was 16 or 17, I think, when he died. My daughter was allergic to cats, so I had to rehome him, and a gentleman with a terminal illness was looking for an adult cat. We met a few times, my cat obviously really liked him, and the gentleman sent me pictures of him throughout the year until he passed away from heart disease and my cat went to his sister, who also sent me pictures until the sweetie was laid to rest. I really miss that cat. I don’t think I’d get another one, though, unless I lived alone. My husband is allergic to anything that walks, crawls or grows out of the ground except humans and cockroaches.

Hope everyone’s having a great week. Mom had chemo today so I’m going to run over there and get her settled before the evening ruckus begins.

FCM I haven’t seen frozen taters in the grocery store for quite a while. I like tots, but there are no tots to be found.

The designers are still merrily designing away, so now this one huge thingy I’ve built for them is now obsolete. Huzzah, only 2.5 days and $400 in materials wasted. Yes, I’ll be billing for the time. I’ll theoretically have an answer on what size these ought to be in the morning. We shall see.

The best part of this is that the guy will have to explain in a courtroom how a woman (you’re a woman, right?) with a cane was able to clock his ass. I’m assuming that they will insure that he does not learn your name; people like that have a habit of being repeat offenders.

Wow! unknown! That bastige deserved it.

Lovely hair sunny and shoe.

I hope that everything goes well for Ophelia **BooFae((.

Congrats on the impending retirement wet one!

Irked, came home and need a nap. They’re feeding us tomorrow, so no lunch will need to be packed.

Stay safe and healthy y’all!
