The too tough to die MMP

Spent a while looking for the purple streak…on Yoshi!

There isn’t one. Not on the dog nor the human.

The human’s hair streaks are aquamarine. Her shirt is purple.

And peace reigns. My sister’s visit went long since my daughter volunteered to bring Roxy over to see her aunt. And since they were here, I invited Daughter and Roxy to supper - my sister wouldn’t have eaten it. So she left a bit after 4 and we ate a bit before 5. No leftovers - all 1.5# of carrots were snarfed down, along with however many spuds and onions were in the pot. I’ve got about 3 cups of broth that will become the base for soup. Yum.

Dishes are done and kitchen is relatively tidy. Chillage to follow.

Howdy all. Eating a Cheeseburger and Fries after exercise apparently leads to a 90-minute nap, at least that is how it worked for me. The rain started sometime while I was abed and is continuing, not a downpour but nice and steady…a good ‘soaking rain’ as my Mom used to call it.

Shoe, Sunny, lovely hair on both of you. I’m not quite in Wheelies class yet, but there is not much up top of old Rat anymore; my beard is growing nicely, however.

And Yoshi’s face is very expressive; you know what his mood is pretty easily.

Shoe, I actually heard that line in an old Jerry Lewis-Dean Martin movie many years ago (don’t ask me which one, have no idea) and it just stuck with me as little odd things do (I can still sing the complete theme to Car 54 Where Are You).

OK, probably need to start the usual 2sday Mac-n-Cheese shortly. Take care all.

Well, a down day today, packing-wise. It’s drizmal out, which is a word I may or may not have coined to describe PNW weather. I’m sure someone else must have come up with it before I first uttered it. We managed to go buy some bug control spray for the rose bushes and picked up some ant control stuff while we were there, but it’s been a lazy day otherwise.

Y’all! Laundry got laundered, bug guy did his thing, sloth and uselessness occurred and sup got et. Thus was the day at da cave. Now we await the rain MetalMouse is currently experiencin’.

{{{shades}}}

Domino’s is one of those it’s OK sometimes things. We order from the Hut of Pizza a lot because 'tis convenient to da cave.

Wheelie have fun house huntin’ in Lost Wages.

CupCakes HEE! I had not heard/seen that Weird Al Yankovic before. Also it is not silly to be worried about Mauser, poor baby.

Taters safe and uneventful travels!

shoe lovin’ the hair!

Sunny lookin’ good there and so is Yoshi!

yoshi grinning in da cone of shame gave me a good snerk.

Both y’all got great hair and eyes.

Now off to do something for dinner. I’m thinking a pork chop and a salit.

wheels You’ve got some strange hair. Looks kinda round…

I understand the need to make hay while the sun shines, but don’t work too hard VanGo.

Welcome aboard buzzy!

Hope you and your hubby are feeling better soonest dicey. The flu is nothing to fool with.

{{{shady}}}

Poor Mauser! I’m sure that you’ll baby him appropriately baker.

It didn’t go too bad at irk today. My supe put me in for 3 days Covid pay (the max) since I failed the health check in for three days running. Work has been light enough that I likely logged more hours for those 3 days than those who worked. Speaking of which, I don’t have to be in until 0730 tomorrow.

Stay safe and healthy y’all!

Yoshi looks like a huge dog! Is part of it that gorgeous fur?

Mauser is back from the vet and I have a ton of meds for him. He had an ear infection too, so I have to inject this stuff in his ears for ten days. Then there’s pain meds, antibiotics, and a probiotic. Not sure what the last is for but I trust the vet. I have been taking pets to him for over thirty two years, and live in dread of when he retires.

Chefguy, I am going to steal the word drizmal.

I just had a case of exactly three hiccups. Just needed to share. That’s never happened before, usually it goes on for hours.

I’m guessing drizmal is similar to ithacating, which is what we call the weather around here. I do like the word, and will be stealing it.

baker skritches for Mauser. And big hugs, too, but gently.

Did you one better, I used it already in a Facebook post that started “It is snow-rain-hailing-sleeting-drizzling?” Should be added to the OED.

Me: < trims 2 dog toenails >
Gordie “OGOD YOU AMPUTATED MY FEET! POLICE! SPCA! MATLOCK! I’M FREAKIN’ DYING HERE!”
Also, it is raining and cool. But I have a gin and tonic, since my scurvy was acting up.

shoe, sunny, neat colors.
And Yoshi looks happier in a cone than Gordie ever did.

: skritches Mauser :

Wheelz, I’m closer to Walter White than Fabio at this point as well.

Skritches to Mauser. baker, the probiotic will (hopefully) offset a normal side effect of antibiotics: diarrhea.

Heh. I actually took an actual picture of the actual top of my actual head today. If I can figure out how to post it, you’ll see that I wasn’t exaggerating.

This is not a bad thing ya know.

Today I hit someone with my cane and meant it. I’ve always wondered what I would do if I saw someone beating on someone else because I’ve never once gotten into a physical fight. (OK, yes I did push my baby sister down a couple of times but she was wearing diapers so it didn’t hurt that much.)

It started as such a normal day and then shit happened :frowning:

My framer got back from Chicago on the first so we went to our fav Mexican place for a late lunch before visiting him. I wanted to give him time to catch up with his backlog, us retired drains on society don’t have much reason to be rushing around anymore.

Great lunch and the place was empty when we got there at a little after three, but started filling up about half an hour later. I’m happy, its a small family owned restaurant and I want them to stay in business.

I took my Grandma Pat needlework piece as well as the house piece to the framer who just happens to be right next door and we picked out a frame and mats for the new one and I showed him the problems with the house. He seemed really shocked that he had missed them but I suspect it was because he was rushing so he could finish it before driving to Chicago due to an unexpected death in the family.

So, totally good mood until I asked hubs to stop at a convenience store so I could grab something to pay for using the restroom. While standing in line, someone ran in and grabbed the woman in front of me and back handed her hard. I didn’t even think before giving him a rage filled two-handed hit with my cane. There was blood on his part from me hitting him and him falling and splitting his head open on the floor. She had blood on her face from her nose and lips.

From what I understand the lady who got attacked had a restraining order against the man I hit and he just happened to see her car as he was driving by.

The sheriff was very nice to me. The cats weren’t so nice because their gushy fud was late.

I haz a headache.

Holy vigilante, Janie!
Sorry that happened, but I’m glad you did what you did. Most people would just stand and gawk, I suspect.

Here’s hoping:
A) The scumbag is held accountable for both the assault and violating the restraining order,
B) His victim stays safe and protected, and
C) You’re not in any trouble for clocking the jerk.

and

This drain on society is still putting in. Well done! Sorry the cats had to wait for their fud, but at least they got some.

Metal Mouse you’re doing really well on keeping up with the daily exercise. I am so lazy, I don’t even do my daily stretches every day. Which I pay for later, because I get tied up in knots.

Pretty hair, shoe and sunny. Shoe, you remind me of my friend when she was in her 20s, especially the smile.

You all keep sharing such wonderful pictures and stories about your fur babies, I almost start to wonder about getting one. Then I remember that I’m allergic, and neither of us are responsible enough.

Doctor’s office is crazy busy (drop all masking requirements, then have a big festival => lots of people getting sick, and not just corona). As hubby doesn’t need an appointment, just a doctor’s note, the negative corona test was enough to get the note from the doctor. If he gets worse, I’ll call again, but he’s stable.

That’s good that you got Covid pay. Too bad sick pay’s not the norm.

Have a meeting in 30 minutes, and I haven’t prepared any slides. I think I’ll make notes as I go - I have plenty of thoughts, just not organized. Which means, I should set up a template for meeting notes. So much fun.

Oh, it’s Wednesday. Happy Hump Day!

Up, caffeinated, and sheveled. Off to heave. it’s drizzling.

“Got meth?”

Holy Shaolin, Batman! But good job defending the lady.

Morning, mumpers! Bright and shiny outside today, but still coooooold!

Unknown, good for you with the cane, sorry the feline overlords weren’t pleased but you did a good thing defending someone else.

Sunny and shoe, you is both pretty ladies! Love the hair colour - mine is currently “ultravoilet”, so slightly purplish. Head of School complimented me on it this morning though, so not a bad thing.

Doggio you has a serious!

metal mouse good for you keeping up with the exercise. I managed a session Monday after work, then got plans for Thursday session at home, Friday morning bodypump class, then Saturday’s usual combination of bootcamp followed by spin. I’m not getting any lighter, the wobbly fat obviously likes me and wants to stay, but carrying it around should be getting easier, right?

Love the pet pics too, dogs always look gorgeous but I still don’t want one. Hope Mauser feels better after surgery.

Ophelia was due to go to the vet tomorrow for a repeat blood test, but she’s got an emergency appointment today as well. We think she’s had a small abscess on her cheek that has popped, so she’s booked in this morning. They won’t be able to do the blood test because she had some food this morning so the poor baby will see the vet today, then be starved overnight, and see another vet tomorrow!

They all seem to have disappeared around here. One that was in Leonardtown is now a Pizza Boli, and the one that was in Charlotte Hall is now Domino. The old eat-in Hut in Waldorf has been empty for years. I can’t recall the last time I ordered from them.

I feel the same way about our car guy. He’s younger than we are, but in the 15 or so years we’ve gone to him, his hair has taken on lots more gray. I’m pretty sure we’re not the cause…

Note to self: Don’t piss of needleworkers who wield canes… :open_mouth: Good on ya!!

doggio: :astonished:

It’s been raining all night and it’s about 41°. I am not looking forward to venturing out to pick up the little guy - ucky day! But I am glad I did all my raking over the weekend - now the cleared beds are getting a good drink.

Got an email reminder that the balance on our cruise is due on the 15th - I’ve put that on my calendar for payment on Moanday. Thank goodness for plastic! With all the surgery stuff and boat stuff and shop stuff and other stuff going on, we’ll be carrying a VISA balance for a bit, but we get a big chunk of cash back in October, and I know the interest we’ll pay won’t come close to our rebate, so I’m not fretting. Not that fretting would help any more income magically appear. And since neither of us have any mysterious, wealthy, elderly relatives who are about to kick and leave us a fortune, we’ll just deal, 'cause what else can you do?

I’ll do laundry today - my basket overfloweth and I’m sure FCD’s is similarly full. Once I get the baby settled and when my sweetie is up to keep an eye on the kidlet, I’ll haul our dirties downstairs and get things started. So I’ve got that going for me. And I need to decide what to defrost for supper - maybe something with shrimp? I’m sure I’ll figure it out.

Happy Wednesday!!
