Me and a few friends of mine have put together a site about beer…it’s still in the rudimentary phases, but it’s coming along. At any rate, there is currently a 64-beer tournament of beers going on (about halfway through the first round matchups now) in which the winning beer is decided by the voters who visit the site. Please feel free to stop by and vote your favorite beers to victory…

Sweet site, TMaxwell. There’s going to be some tough matchups. I’d have to say that The Bar region is the closest matched in the tourney, and will have the most exciting Sweet 16 matchups. Bass vs. Harp in the quarter finals!
There are some tough matchups, but there are also some that (to me anyway) make no sense. How, for example, did Labatt’s Blue manage to get matched up against Grolsch–and win?
Never mind. It looks like fun, and I’ll have to remember to check in and vote for my favourites. (hic)
It was pretty tough to seed them…and to be honest, some of the seeds were based on what I figured my old college crowd would favor. Miller High Life carried some strong sentimental support from that crowd.
Stella Artois just missed the cut. It had a weak out of conference schedule.
Whoever was the idiot that voted Old Milwaukee over Anchor Steam deserves to be punished severely. I think making him drink a case of Old Milwaukee and being forbidden to drink any Anchor beers would be appropriate.
Very cool site! I will stop by often, though I am dissapointed in the absence of Koestritcher from your tournament. I am however glad to see a fine beer like Brooklyn IPA involved.
I’m not a drinker of beers, but there is one thing I do know:
Corona is FAR better then Brooklyn IPA! Christ! Granted, Corona doesn’t have a lot of flavor, and it would lose in the next round against red dog OR Foster…but Brooklyn IPA is just nasty shit! I tried some of that once and nearly vomited! Good lord!
