I’ll go ahead and see it, but I can’t help but think that they’ve covered all the major plot points, start to finish, in the trailer.
Well, I suspect there will still be some twists, turns and reveals in store for us. Can’t wait!
I’m in! Love this type of SF. Not enough of it around - they seem to prefer to throw money at plots that emphasize big explosions and not big themes. We’ll see if it lives up to the talk.
From what I can surmise it definitely exists in the Alien universe, and is set before the first film (around 2080 I think?) Ridley Scott has just been downplaying the p-word (‘prequel’) because, well, it has become synonymous with crass, fanboy, money-grubbing, ah, crap. Mostly (and deservedly) because of George Lucas.
The Space Jockey, the snake-like ship, and maybe even a facehugger all seem to be present in Prometheus. I think Scott wants people to realize though that these elements are just window dressing to a mostly original, independent story. I would bet a million that there will definitely ***not ***be any adult Xenomorphs to be seen.
I saw Prometheus in the theatre yesterday, and I liked it. The trailers made me a bit anxious, but Scott managed to pleasantly surprise me. From what I’ve seen, the critics are also overall positive in their reviews.
There was a scene at the end before the credits which had the look of an after-credits scene. You’ll know it when you see it, and you should see it, I won’t spoil anything specific here unless asked
By the way, wiki already has the plot outline up. (spoilers, obviously)
