While flipping channels, I stumbled upon “The Tribe” on Encore’s WAM (a network for teens).
It’s got a bunch on teens who look like an Adam Ant video threw up on them (weird face paint, oddly colored hair, MTV reject clothes). It appears to be set in some sort of Mad Max-ish post apocalyptic future where various “tribes” battle for control of “The City”. There doesn’t appear to be any adults. I believe it’s an Australian show, but a lot of the characters have American accents.
One weird show.
There’s a few kids shows like that from Oz. We had them on BBC when I was younger.
Yeah; apparently, there was some kind of disease or catastrophe that killed off all the adults, leaving the kids to form their own societies; considering that they never seem to wash, they manage to keep their elaborate makeup pretty neat, don’t they?
Oh, and there’s still electricity and running water, which is quite nice.
IIRC, those sort of shows are usually a joint venture between the Australian TV networks and some Canadian production company. There’s half a dozen or so of them out there at various times…
