What’s the story with the Lincoln Park Trixies? Someone pointed out this site on another BBS. Why are they called `Trixies’? Who is going through this much trouble to make fun of them?
What’s wrong with being called “Trixie”?

That would all depend on the answer to my own question. Why Trixie?
I’m Trixie.
There are worse nicknames one could have. There are also many far better ones.

The question is, how has the term `Trixie’ become associated with young women professional women who live in Lincoln Park, drink Starbuck’s coffee and drive Jettas.
Unfortunatly, I have no idea what you’re talking about…
Have you ever heard of Linkin Park? If not, DL one of thier songs. I swear, you will fall in love with them.

I know I didn’t call this thread “Attention, Comedians” because all I got was you two.
This does seem like a lot of work to mock people who will probably never see the site.
My WAG concerning the name Trixie is that the author knew/knows a person matching this description with the aforementioned name and has used it since.
WAG2: The LPT or LPTS bumper sticker (seen in one of the pictures archives) is a real society, so they based it off the T in that. Trixie would be, in this case, a mostly random choice.
That’s a funny page.
My head hurts.
Apparently, WFLD in Chicago did a report on the Trixies. According to a guy on Atrium BBS who saw it:
I saw that report on WFLD and checked out the site the next day. I loved it - seriously, my skin starts to crawl when I get in that neighborhood and they’re dead on with their satire. I wonder who created the site…
I was nicknamed Trixie by my family and friends when I was a bratty little kid because I liked to pretend that I was Trixie from the Speed Racer cartoon. I live in southern CA, drink Coca Cola, and drive a Sentra GXE. I think I’ll refrain from using my nickname if I ever visit Chicago…
Trixie, you are single-handedly, one of the most coolest people on this message board.
Silly rabbit, Trixies are for kids.
