I saw a hilarious video montage - probably The Daily Show but I’m too lazy to look it up — of various administration officials trying to talk about “Infrastru—“ and getting cut off, over and over again, by breaking news of some unrelated scandal.
eschereal the seriously twisted:
Ignorance is bliss, and We want you to be happy .
*Scott Pruitt’s EPA and the White House sought to block publication of a federal health study on a nationwide water-contamination crisis, after one Trump administration aide warned it would cause a “public relations nightmare” … The study would show that the chemicals endanger human health at a far lower level than EPA has previously called safe, according to the emails.
“The public, media, and Congressional reaction to these numbers is going to be huge,” one unidentified White House aide said in an email … “The impact … is going to be extremely painful. We (DoD and EPA) cannot seem to get (the HHS Agency for Toxic Substances and Disease Registry) to realize the potential public relations nightmare this is going to be.”
More than three months later, the draft study remains unpublished, and the HHS unit says it has no scheduled date to release it for public comment.*
The whole article is disturbing, but not lacking irony,
In his year leading EPA, he has overhauled several scientific advisory panels to include more industry representatives and recently ordered limits on the kinds of scientific studies the agency will consider on the health effects of pollution. On the other hand, Pruitt has also called water pollution one of his signature priorities .
Holy shit! That is disturbing. Callous bastards! “Public relations” is far more important to them than “public health”. Sick!

When he says water pollution is one of his signature priorities, are we sure he means stopping water pollution?
Gotten to the point where I see a cowboy movie, and they stop by a sparkling river to fill their canteens I have to stifle the urge to scream “Stop! Don’t! You’ll fuckin’ die !”.
But yeah, impact varies. In communities where getting a quick drink of water usually means a bottle of Perrier, they have lost considerable immunity. their systems cannot handle the ordinary hose-water out of Flint. If their water systems somehow intermingled, it would have a ghastly impact . Not that I would ever recommend such a thing, I certainly would not! And if it happened, and I chuckled a bit, that would not necessarily mean I approve…

Well, he’s doing a great job of making sure that water pollution continues unabated.
I’m now picturing Melania as Kay Corleone.
Trump described Melania today as “in good spirits”. If true, it’s probably for the first time in 3 years.
North Korea threatens to cancel talks with the US over US/South Korean joint military exercises.
Here’s a nice little story about how Loser Donnie is helping his [del]suckers[/del] supporters:
Trump-voting crab town left shell-shocked by his visa changes
New restrictions on a program that allowed seasonal foreign workers to enter the U.S. are devastating Hoopers Island, Maryland.
This community voted overwhelmingly for Donald Trump. But now his immigration restrictions are killing their livelihood — legendary crabs that are a staple of the local economy and a delicious treat around the county…
‘Right now, we’re shut down," said Morgan Tolley, manager of A.E. Phillips and Sons Seafood. "We’re in self-preservation mode…’
‘We can’t operate the way we’re going," Phillips told NBC News. "I’ve had to let truck drivers go. I don’t need truck drivers if I don’t have the product. It’s going to affect us to the point where we may have to totally close…’
‘The more demand that there is for bait, the better I do," Powley said. "Right now, there’s no demand because they can’t handle the crabs because they have no pickers. And it’s really hurting us right now…’
‘I do not have any Americans that want to do this job," said Brian Hall, the owner of G.W. Hall & Sons seafood, one of the few facilities on the island that was able to secure enough H-2B visas this year. “We support a lot of different businesses from a lot of different states and it’s all because of these H-2B girls.”’
You get the idea. If only someone would have told Loser Donnie supporters about the consequences of putting their Messiah into a position where he could do the things he said he’d do. If only someone would have told the puppets about the concept of unintended consequences.
Oh, wait… Lots of people told them. But they’d rather listen to the Russians. They’re getting exactly what they voted for. They were told, ‘Hey, it Loser Donnie is elected, he’s going to screw you over.’ They’re like, ‘I know! TRUMP! TRUMP! TRUMP!’
And now they’re like, ‘We expected him to screw over other people! Not us!’ Well, they should have listened.

“But given the chance, many Hoopers Island residents say they’d vote for Trump again. They believe that if he only knew about their plight, he would change his policy.”
Ahahahahahahahahaha!
Heh. You said… You s…
AHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA! I CAN’T STOP LAUGHING!

If only they had paid attention to orchards in Colorado . It’s not “job stealing” if the local population doesn’t want the jobs!
Or California , for that matter.
This…this is just classic.
When the Palestinian Ambassador rose to speak at the UN Security Council about Israel’s killings of dozens of Palestinian protesters, Nikki Haley stood up and walked out.
That brings to mind this pearl of wisdom from another president:
President George W. Bush:
“There’s an old saying in Tennessee — I know it’s in Texas, probably in Tennessee — that says, fool me once, shame on — shame on you. Fool me — you can’t get fooled again.”

It seems like nobody is connecting this particular news item with the ones about the 1,500 migrant children who were separated from their parents and put in foster homes and LOST. Just up and disappeared. Nobody know what happened to them. Vanished.
It doesn’t seem to bode well for the proposed expansion of the program.
