The Hoopers Island residents want Trump to recognize their plight, but how many of them are willing to extend that line of thinking the other way? They voted for someone who cut the number of H-2B visas and now they can’t get the crab pickers they need. What makes them think that crab picking is the only industry supported by those visas? I’m sure there are others. If they want Trump to recognize their plight, they should start by recognizing the plight of all the other industries they were willing to screw.
But they are special, with unique problems that are not faced by other people in the country. Anyone else who is having problems is doing so only due to their own poor choices, but these fine people just need a bit of understanding from the govt.
