Aw, that’s just so goshdarn cute! C’mon, do it again!
Ok, so you answer the question then, since it clearly irritates you quite a bit.
If Trump can pardon himself, then surely Hillary could have, right?
I’m wondering if he didn’t give a heads-up to a few of his cronies. The tax cut they got was nice and all that, but why stop there?
Is making a tidy profit from advance knowledge of economic indicators a crime? I’m thinking that technically it’s not inside trading.
It’s almost as cute as Chris Christie asserting that if Trump were to pardon himself, Congressional Republicans would vote to impeach him.
Worth reading.

There’s more. Short article, but good summary.
The reaction would be “See? That is why we had to keep her outta there! Because she would have! We really dodged a bullet there!”
I’m wondering more and more about Melania’s disappearance. Didn’t think very much about that tweet she sent out until people started pointing out it just didn’t sound at all like her. The White House says she keeps having regular meetings but with whom? Has anyone said they’ve met with her recently? I’m not one of those who feel sorry for her, she’s just a gold-digging East European hooker who bit off more than she can chew. But she is First Lady – or was, assuming she’s still alive – so the disappearance holds one’s interest.
Interesting theories so far:
- She’s really a lot – A LOT – sicker than has been let on.
- President Chump beat the bejesus out of her, and she needs time for the wounds to disappear.
- She’s hiding out in New York while preparing to file for a divorce.
- She is having a major nervous breakdown and has been locked away.
Funniest episode thus far is Chump outdoors pointing at a window and telling reporters, “Look, look. There she is, looking out!” But not a single reporter saw anyone. Sounds like a stunt from The Producers.
Funny? maybe. Mega-creepy when you consider that the guy gleefully gaslighting the reporters is a stone-cold narcissist to whom every other person on the planet–including his wife–is not a person at all, but merely a cardboard cut-out, to be moved around as suits his own purposes.
If she had already been dead when he said that, he could have said it just as happily.
(I’m not claiming that she is deceased, but only that Trump would have no trouble in cheerfully misleading reporters if she were.)
Yeah, this seemed oddly eerie to me, as well. Reminded me of Hitchcock’s PSYCHO, with Mama Bates passing by a window. Or Clouzot’s LES DIABOLIQUES, with the dead man appearing in the window.
Next week’s White House press release: “Melanie Trump sadly died. The President celebrated by announcing his engagement to Miss Universe 2016.”
Sarah Huckabee Sanders: “Any media speculation that the President had Melanie Trump murdered in cold blood is treason.”
He could never get those stubby fingers around her neck.
Meanwhile, Guilliani: “Why yes Trump did Murder Melenia and hide her remains in the Resolute desk. As chief executive it’s perfectly within his powers as laid out in the constitution… What? Did I say something wrong?.”
Could Giuliani today asserting Chump could personally kill anyone while president, with his own two little stubby hands, and never be indicted be a lead-up to the announcement of Melania’s untimely demise? Hmm.

Rudy says Trump could have shot Comey in the Oval Office and he couldn’t be indicted for it.
Giuliani: Trump Could Have Shot Comey And Still Couldn’t Be Indicted For It | HuffPost Latest News?
Dang.
Last year I was reading some guy on the Patheos website who was giving us chapter-by-chapter summaries of the Left Behind books (so we wouldn’t have to). Giuliani’s hypothetical was practically a plot point in one of them.
He’s not quite right.
The correct answer is, he could or couldn’t be. It depends on what people in American democracy are willing to tolerate.
But think about this: we elected to the highest office of the land someone who was on tape as having committed sexual assault. It wasn’t a secret, either.
Democracy depends on an electorate with a sense of virtue. And what do we do? We elect someone who is on tape bragging about sexual assault.
Virtues.
The problem with that is that virtues, on the Right, have become synonymous with Republican political policy. No gay stuff. Enforce white supremacy. Must be Christian or at least willing to pretend. Low to no taxes. High military spending. No social spending.
And here we are.
Honestly with Og as my witness, When I posted that I hadn’t seen the article Rick was talking about and thought I was just making a joke. Satire is getting damn difficult these days.
