The Trump Administration: A Clusterfuck in the Making

It’s a good job, plus you get to keep all your limbs and family members, and you can have all the polonium you can eat!

In Russia, polonium eats YOU!

WTF is the problem with ANYONE in government after this stupid tweet? How can there be an ounce of respect for a tax-evading, mentally equated three-year-old who starts a twitter war? How does anyone expect our country to be taken seriously at all in any given policy or agreement?

No but see he’s really playing 6-dimensional chess where everybody believes he’s a complete fuckwit and that’s when he does something even *more *retarded to lull people into a false sense of security. THEN and only then he starts to call Rouhani mean names on Twitter. Then America starts winning.

Look, it’s real subtle, OK ? What you’ve got to remember is, [del]God[/del]Trump has a plan.

I had to do a search to find out what Rouhani said that Trump was responding to. Not that I thought Trump’s vitriol might be warranted (it wasn’t), I was just curious.

To follow up: From CNN: https://www.cnn.com/2018/07/23/politics/trump-iran-intl/index.html

What’s the problem with literally anyone? That tweet is so obviously unhinged, and yet on Twitter any criticism is met by “oh, so you love Iran, huh?” It’s fucking deranged.

They need a crisis to exploit before the mid-terms, and exploit it they will.

It is deranged, and also childish, stupid, embarrassing and pointless. But it gave the lazy media a clickbait headline and Trump’s base a collective orgasm, so look for more to come.

Great minds think alike. I came across the followed and ctrl-C’ed to post here. But it’s already the topic of conversation!

(I’ll ctrl-V the clipboard, since I’ve already carried it this far.)

“To Iranian President Rouhani: NEVER, EVER THREATEN THE UNITED STATES AGAIN OR YOU WILL SUFFER CONSEQUENCES THE LIKES OF WHICH FEW THROUGHOUT HISTORY HAVE EVER SUFFERED BEFORE. WE ARE NO LONGER A COUNTRY THAT WILL STAND FOR YOUR DEMENTED WORDS OF VIOLENCE & DEATH. BE CAUTIOUS!”

This.

And it’s going to have to be BIG, the BIGGEST.

How about getting Russia to do (God forbid) a 9/11-type attack, so the nation will rally around president pantsonhead?

That is my source as well, and what I wrote was correct. Around 40% of Americans still support Trump. Disapproval is barely above 50%. Maybe you find a way to interpret that as a positive. I find it horrifying.

You cannot seriously believe this tripe.

Yep. Throw a rock into a herd of jackass and the one that brays is the one you chipped.

Just like his hero, he made it up.

Only to you.

And I thought the candidate was supposed to be Manchurian.

Suppose for a moment that this is actually true. Think about what you’re saying. It would mean that the President of the United States is deliberately setting out to antagonize about half of the citizens he is supposed to lead. And, if the Putin meeting was not meant to achieve anything else, he’s doing so for no better reason than to be antagonizing. And you seem to think that this would be a good thing. Once someone is elected president, he doesn’t get to pick and choose who his constituents are.

Other presidents have done things that have disappointed, or even angered, their political opponents. Obama passed the Affordable Care Act, but he was trying to accomplish something with it. I never heard even his most vocal critics say he did it just to piss off conservatives. That’s essentially what you’re saying; Trump spent time, money, and considerable effort to do something solely because he knew half the country would hate it. You seem to think you’re somehow defending him. Just taking this at face value (and again, if it were true) it shows how utterly unfit Trump is to lead the country.

Always wondered what it would sound like if two five-year-olds had a dick-waggling contest. Well, not always. But anyway, now I know.

Nitpick: we haven’t had diplomatic relations with Iran since 1979, so there is no US-Iran ambassador.

Because other countries know this will be over in a couple years. Plus, we can bomb the shit out of them.

No need. What some of them are doing (including Spain’s Sánchez and Robles) is simply pump up our own defenses. If the US wants to get out of NATO, hey, we have all that military real estate we need to find a use for!

You seem to view Trump as an isolated phenomenon in American politics. A. He is not. and B. His completion of the merger of Tea Party outrage populism with big money lobbyism is going to influence US politics for decades.

Trump is successfully indoctrinating his base with the schizophrenic idea that the minority party in congress is still hurting America, which is being destroyed by immigration, but is also great again ever since the election. Whether the Republican party ekes out a slim continued majority in the upcoming election or not, Trump will have two more years of taking credit for anything positive and blaming the democrats for anything bad, whether real or just made up by him, and sane Republicans will either have to grow a spine, stand up for what they believe is right, and abandon any chance of winning, since ditching Trump will alienate a substantial part of their voters, or continue as they are now, completely adrift from reality, but in power.

And as Trump is finding out, in world politics, having a history of bad faith negotiations sticks with you, threatening war isn’t all that effective, and when you have alienated your business partners you can’t just ditch them and find some other greedy suckers.

Exspinations.

Think it’s clever enough to become a portmaneau?

I suspect this will happen.

Trump has always been a whiner. This is from before the election:

I’ve seen this quote often enough:

Trump is a poor man’s idea of a rich man, a weak man’s idea of a strong man, and a stupid man’s idea of a smart man.
