The Trump Administration: A Clusterfuck in the Making

The post looked pretty accurate and rational to me.

Question… How many times a day does he have to say “want fries with that?” :stuck_out_tongue:

… and the U.N. the Rothchilds, and the dun dun dunnnnnn Globalists.

and the Illuminati. and Pizzagate. and reptilian alien overlords. and Hillary.

Yeah! Ya know, “people”. Those “many people are saying” guys. Trump hates anonymous shit, except when he is hiding behind to to lie again.
“Many people are saying” he should eat a eat a bag of rusty, shit encrusted razor blades.

That makes me wonder, what is he going to do when the media doesn’t have to pay attention to him anymore?

Use them, then after the work is done, “change or renegotiate” and don’t pay them. Just like his “building projects”.

the reason for the shortage and not giving 2% raises to federal employees (yes, they are cheaper than contractors) is the $570 BILLION defense budget. But don’t blame Trump for all of it. None of the senators or congressmen will give up a military contract in their district. With all the zillion sub-contractors supplying parts to the major contractors, you know who they are, the defense budget and space program is what makes our economy great. Not that I am defending it but I can’t think of an equivalent replacement to keep our economy going.

I despise the man, but was he supposed to sit in the White House watching coverage? He was specifically not invited.

I love it when people go right to reductio ad absurdum. That’s all you’ve got?

I can! I mean, we’re going to have some military spending. We have treaty obligations now. But we could easily spend 30%-60% of what we’re now spending on military hardware on new power and transportation infrastructure. Natural gas won’t be economically viable in a few decades, coal is a public health hazard, climate change is burning us (literally), and many places have no passenger rail.

And once we get every natural-gas-burning home and facility refitted or replaced, and light rail to every city of 25K or more, and rooftop solar and flow batteries installed everywhere, there will still be maintenance and new research.

Seriously, it’s ridiculous to pretend that we* need *all this military spending economically, when we could spend more in other departments and don’t.

Trump pulled a dick move but Trump is a dick so when he does something totally disrespectful of political norms we have to look at it as not a bug but a feature (and indeed that is what his base seems to love about him, that he doesn’t give a shit about the old rules).

If Trump is pissing on McCain’s grave and the Senate is just idly letting it happen it’s because they have consciously decided that in the pursuit of their political careers nothing is sacred. So they will say “I love John McCain and everything he represented” but they’ll leave off the “but I’m not letting a dead guy tank my Senate career.” Is it cowardly, craven, shitheeled behavior? Absolutely. But the shame that should come along with that is salved when the checks clear.

Also: Yes, that’s what he was supposed to do.

Except that presidentin’ is the man’s job. He goes to work 5 days a week, just like everyone else, and gets Saturday and Sunday off. This is his weekend, for his own enjoyment. None of that work stuff today.

Well, yeah. But you’re not the frothing jackass Dundass is.

God, what a petty, childish, irreverent ass.

I just had a great idea. When Der Trumpster finally goes to [del]his eternal reward[/del] eternal damnation, there should be a huge, nationwide movement to go play golf during his funeral. All kinds of golf, including miniature golf, and ultimate frisbee. Picture it, while thump is being lowered into the ground in his solid gold coffin, thousands of people are out on the links, lightheartedly strolling the fairways, putting their hearts out, tossing flying discs, whacking the little door in the front of the tiny windmill, all whistling a merry tune. I like that picture.

Funny thing is, whenever I see a shot of him playing golf, it always seems to be a pic of him thrashing at the ball to try and get it closer to the fairway. If his ball had been further into the “rough”, it would have been on the highway.

Really?

Tell that to any of my (nominally 40 hr/wk Mon-Fri) co-workers who regularly work on nights and weekends.

And can expect any negative publicity they generate that can be linked to their employer to affect said employment, i.e. draw a massive lecture at work at best or at worst result in a pink slip (not that these exist for many jobs anymore). Executives get a bit of pass for their behavior that the hoi-polloi don’t, but even they would be expected to be publicly censured for it.

Hell, it’s in our employee handbook, as I’m sure it’s in many others’. We are expected to behave in a manner that does not reflect poorly on our employer, whether or not we are on premises or “on the clock” (i.e. in some sense we’re always on the clock). It’s right there in the manual.

This petty bullshit would get most Americans in trouble at work, so the fact is that some negative internet comments judging the POTUS for golfing during a high profile funeral for a long serving and respected public servant doesn’t even rise to the level of slap on the wrist compared to the ass-chewing most Americans would be expected to face for the same behavior.

Where’s that upvote button? The perfect gesture toward an imperfect man.

The only hole-in-one he’ll ever achieve.
