The Trump Administration: A Clusterfuck in the Making

One cannot be a certain thing and not be that certain thing at the same time. Those ignoramuses already had validation…from other bigots. Regardless of Fox’s existence, they vote for the person who, in their hate-filled little minds is more like them than the other candidate. See: hold your nose and vote for the Mormon instead of Muslim Obama.

Is this some kind of performance art or have your synapses finally snapped and collapsed into a mash? I can almost hear the frantic giggling in every one of your last five posts or so.

No good Internet drama queens who post in all caps.

You’re as nutty as a Trump turd, son.

Hey, America First! Right On! The Trump administration says global slavery and child labor are bad — for American businesses

That Acosta eventually acknowledged the horrors of modern-day slavery and child labour more as an afterthought totally underscores their focus on this issue as being an economic rather than humanitarian concern.

I honestly don’t believe the Trump phenomena couldn’t exist without a collection of news sources that allow trumpists to believe in a literally false alternate reality, isolated from real news sources. Fox is a lynchpin of such media.

And I believe Trump agrees with me. He crows the phrase “fake news!” a lot, and that phrase means “the only news source you should listen to is Fox News”.

So what? I already knew that Trump is a disgusting fuckhead, but hysterical nuttery and calls for despotic countermeasures should NOT be excusable answers to this mess.

Hate etc. which will always exist, was becoming something you kept to yourself. Until recently. Fox news validates and reinforces something that people were not sure they should express publicly. Things like “I’m poor because of the Mexicans.” Or “I can’t get a good paying factory job because of the Canadians.” Deep down, I think people weren’t sure that it wasn’t their own fault. By giving airtime to people like Hannity and Limbaugh they validate the worst in people. Fox also is constantly trotting out the next bogeyman, while praising the real problem that they are certainly more than minorly complicit in.

I’ve said this before. I can ask someone if they watch Fox news, and if they say yes, I know their views on most issues. With 90% accuracy. I certainly couldn’t say the same thing about someone that gets their news from ABC.

Meaning, you think Asahi is serious, like, about re-education camps, and stuff?

I’ll turn 60 shortly. Your post does not describe American politics over the decades I’ve witnessed. With Fox, they’re getting narratives they agree with. Before Fox, they were getting narratives they dismissed.

YES, YES, YES. THIS.

Fox keeps this pot boiling. Without Fox thump would not have a legitimate public platform. Except his tweets.

There have always been bigots and anarchists. But you didn’t find their line being sold by a major news organization. No, you didn’t.

The ubiquity and immediacy of social media makes it possible to spew this crap around the world 24/7 with no checks or boundaries.

Frankly, I can tell anymore, but he was hyperbolic all throughout this long thread, and the last posts by him lead me to think that he has totally snapped by now.

I’m 56. They may have been getting narratives they dismissed, but they weren’t getting spoon fed false narratives nightly.

True enough - he did kinda ramp it up, a little.:stuck_out_tongue:

I forgot to address this:

So you’re sick and tired of hearing about President Airline Puke Bag being a disgusting fuckhead? Really?
(Sure, I’ll grant that my link wasn’t the most news-breaking of links, but, still…)

OF COURSE I’m sicked and tired of all the multitudes of fuckups Trumpo does, like every thinking person on this planet. But I haven’t stopped to care, and I noticed the disgusting nature of Trump’s thought process (you could, btw, do with a 1975 digital watch) once more proved. But that’s still no excuse to go all overboard in reaction, suggesting non-democratic means to fight back.

Dude. If we turn the country into a dictatorship, it really isn’t America anymore, and we all lose.

We’re talking about people here. Humans. Maybe conservatives need to be clued into a few things, but then maybe there is a way to do that without forcing 1/3 of the country into camps. People get scared; people are vulnerable. Powerful forces play on their weaknesses to manipulate people to their own ends. Your suggestion is just a worse version of what we already have.

Buck up. Obama got elected twice, FOX blaring the whole time. We don’t have to become the 4th Reich out of some reactionary response to shitty political ideology, we just have to persuade people to elect better representatives. Your approach just isn’t American. Please reconsider.

Again, yes.

I’m 69 and grew up with Walter Cronkite, Chet Huntley, David Brinkley, Eric Sevareid, Frank McGee, Peter Jennings, John Chancellor, hell, even William Buckley. At one time, Cronkite was the most trusted man in America.

Obama got elected twice – and all the while the country became more and more authoritarian. Obama was kinda like our last hope to save the America that kinda, sorta existed before our current iteration.

This country will have to be remade in some kind of image. It can be remade in the image of Mike Pence and Donald Trump, or something else. You don’t seem to understand that America as we know it is about to become a failed state. We have to offer an alternative, and that means forcing a segment of the population to undergo a rigid militaristic repudiation of their pseudo culture.

Ok sure, if you’re sick and tired of all this crapola, is this thread really the place to hang, where this crapola is being documented? Like, here?:

Well, screw birds, basically.

…Tom Brokaw, Edwin H. Newman, Calvin Trillin, Bill Moyers… Don’t get us started.:stuck_out_tongue:

You tell me…

Reading this? Yep.

you’ve officially gone off the rails .
