The Trump Administration: A Clusterfuck in the Making

And didn’t that one pretty much give birth to the “ of the Day”/“Omnibus Thread” style? IIRC, the OP meant it as a one-off thread to point out a specific stupid idea, and it escalated quickly from there.

I’m really curious about the context… how the subject of the Civil War came up during a rally in Ohio.
And he seems to be confusing Lee and Grant but that’s an easy mistake…

Doesn’t mater what state you’re in. Just need to be a racist to like a trump rally.

Up until he talks about Lincoln being unable to defeat Lee.

Which is a fantastic irony from the racists who try to hide their racism by claiming to be the party of Lincoln (although the party of Lincoln died 50 years ago when they decided to embrace the racists when the Democrats got on the right side of history).

Being bored one afternoon, I went through SRIotD to look at the posting density. It was quite variable for the first couple of years, sometimes being as low as two or three posts a month, but tended to accelerate closer to election times and early in legislative sessions, when there was a shitload of flying stupid from those guys. It has flagged a bit as Clusterfuck sucked the oxygen out of the room. This thread promises to catch up to it in a year or two, even having to compete with the likes of the Butthurt thread. The volume and depth of stupid that Fuckstick von Clownface is capable of barfing out is breathtaking.

You went with “Yay” over “huzzah?”

And Trump says that “everybody” wants Ivanka to be the new UN ambassador. And no one’s more qualified. Of course, all his detractors would just scream “nepotism” if such a move were made.

I certainly don’t want the cretin’s child to be the new ambassador; however, I dearly want the cretin to officially nominate her for that position. Not even Trump’s second most ardent supporter* would roll over and play dead for that stunt. I’m hoping that, at long last, that would be something that’ll get him chased out of office.

*You know full well he, himself, is his most ardent supporter.

It does seem that would be better received in Virginia than Ohio. Lee was second iin his class at West Point, Grant 21st of 39. Lee was very good, it is difficult to march when your army has to shoes.

In her defense, Ivanka has said that she has no interest in the position, and wouldn’t take it.

JUST nepotism?

My bold.

Ooooo be careful with statements like that. <Folds arms over head and peeks at the sky> You are thumbing (or possibly thumping) your nose at the gods, who BTW continue to laugh at us. Every time we’ve said <whatever> could never happen… it did. Beginning with the election.

What qualified Shirley Temple to be the ambassador to Czechoslovakia?

the fact that she was a Ronnie-Republican

Ivanka to the UN gives an indication of just how important Trump thinks the UN is. Kind of like Caligula appointing his horse.

Okay, taking bets. How will the thump administration respond to this?

Prince Estate Demands Donald Trump Stop Playing ‘Purple Rain’ at Rallies

I don’t follow the news, except for watching some of Stephen Colbert’s monologues. Where I live, bring up “politics” and others just want to talk about Thai politics. :smack: (Lucky me? )

And, because I skim these threads backwards, when I saw this …

… I assumed it was just you guys being sarcastic again.

But sure enough, she’s the “most qualified candidate and everybody wants her to be the Ambassador” but she can’t because of nepotism. How can everybody want her if some think it’s nepotism?

The Ambassadorship wasn’t the 1st Google News hit on “Ivanka” or even the 5th hit. Instead I see (though I didn’t watch the YouTube) that Omarosa tells Bill Maher she found it disgusting that Trump kisses his daughter on the lips. What’s so disgusting? She’s a hot piece of ass and, anyway, women needn’t worry about getting pregnant if it’s a real rape.

I’m pretty sure that Caligula wanted to fuck his horse, too.

By the time she went to Czechoslovaquia she’d already been ambassador to Ghana.

Makes you wonder who was a better military student than Lee that year, and how he ended up.

Charles Mason, who resigned his commission two years after graduating. He did pretty well as a civilian, becoming Chief Justice of the Supreme Court of Iowa and later president of a railroad.

Arguably he did better, since he didn’t waste the lives of tens of thousands of young men in a failed cause.
