It’s legal in the eyes of the judiciary; it won’t be legal in the eyes of Trump’s administration. I suspect that legal asylum seekers will be treated as if they were illegally crossing and incarcerated. This president and his many, many enablers are making it clear that they don’t give a shit about the rule of law. This country is slipping ever closer into tyranny.
What “suspect”? It’s what this administration has been doing! They made it unacceptable to request asylum at the points of entry, then they removed an existing policy by which it was ok to request asylum after entering the country (which could even have been done legally, student visas and day shopping trips and tourism are legal!), so when people did ask for asylum, the grown-ups got put in a warehouse and the kids in a cage, the first to wait for deportation and the second for adoption.
The current administration has recovered every knowin instance of government-stolen children and made it televised policy.
