It’s revealing that he thought the Mueller thing had kinda died down. Most everyone knew that Mueller wasn’t going to do anything that might implicate him in tilting an election, which is the very impetus for his investigation to begin with.
I’ve felt all along that Trump would pull the trigger on the Mueller investigation - I honestly thought he’d do it back in May or June, which would have given the Republicans enough time to recover politically in time for midterms, which they lost (and were going to lose) anyway.
I felt for sure he would try to terminate the Mueller investigation after the midterms, but it may already be too late, and it might be inconsequential even if he does. At this point it might just be easier for the president to let the investigation conclude and call it fake news. It’s doubtful that Mueller could do anything to the president while he’s in office, but he could essentially say on the public record that the president is a criminal. OTOH, Mueller could go after Don Jr., who will most likely get pardoned along with others, but politically, as Alan Dershowitz has said, the damage might be done.
He said that it wasn’t getting reported in the media. Remember which media he watches, and note that it’s one that has been extremely sparing in its coverage of the Mueller investigation.
In other news, while I’m not convinced the Deutsche Bank raid will have much to do with Trump (although you never know), I strongly suspect this will:

I would say this is probably more closely related to Weisselberg if it has anything to do with Trump at all. Weisselberg was the big money guy.
I think we all commented here previously about the significance of Weisselberg. It was obvious the moment the feds reeled them in that Cohen and Weisselberg were going to be explosive witnesses. They know where the bodies are buried.
