We’ve had unemployment at 50 year lows, the best wage growth in more than a decade, and interest rates still historically very low and inflation in check - and yet the S&P is essentially negative for the year.
If we enter recession territory, Trump is toast.
The indices are not indicative of how the economy is doing. They might tell us how well off rich people currently are, but the greater breadth of the country has minimal connection with the issues markets, other than hearing about it on the news. We will know the economy is going TU when bad shit starts to happen.

My next door neighbor is in this camp. He was a prisoner (apparently for politically motivated reasons) in Vietnam for a number of years before making it here. He’s lived a quiet life in the suburbs for about 4 decades, raised two kids, caused absolutely no problems, and been a productive contributor to the local economy until he retired. He spends a rather large amount of time caring for his grapefruit (and other citrus) trees in his backyard, visits the grandkids often, and is generally the sort of neighbor everybody should be lucky enough to have.
This is nearly the last person who should be deported.
Any asshat who even considers it should join the circus, because a lot of people would pay good money to see a human head fit so far up an ass.

While I hate to support anything Trump does, I do want to point out that he only wants to deport Vietnamese refugees who have been convicted of crimes in this country. He is not (yet) talking about deporting those who are living here lawfully for decades. Now I need to go shower.
What’s he got against being convicted of crimes?? All his best friends are doing it.
